How good was Sans Frontiers Group 2 ?
Kite Wood hasn’t run for 62days and may have plans for the autumn.
Saptapadi skipped engagements in the Ascot Gold and Goodwood Cups. Does anyone know if they had any excuse for it’s disappointing run in the Curragh Cup when behind John Dunlop’s Tactic and Profound Beauty? Having run eyecatchingly in the Henry II, it was sent off 5/2 2nd favourite that day.
August 13, 2010 at 22:36 #312673I note that Saptapadi got eyeballed at Sandown. He’d been a monkey at the start that day. And maybe it was a bit of bad attitude, temperament in Ireland.
You could read the Henry II as if he lacked a bit of toe close home at 2miles. By Indian Ridge though. (Which also means maybe a little rain won’t inconvenience). And comes here in preference to York’s Lonsdale Cup midweek over 2miles.
It did have a chance at Group 2 Level yet doesn’t have a G2 penalty.
August 14, 2010 at 07:08 #3126902 millimetres of rain at Newbury in the past 24 hours, and the going has changed from Gd to Fm to Gd to Sft in that time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 14, 2010 at 10:06 #312712I want a Sans Frontieres victory, I really like him in the Melbourne Cup.

Good call.
Again though I think the stewards need to go all or nothing when a horse bumps another that hard. Affected Saptapadi most.
I would’ve backed Kite Wood had I not just woke up so ‘ve saved some money today lol

You’d have to think this was a good Group 3 to think he had a chance worth less then around 25s in that on the strength of this form.
I don’t think it was that good a Group 3. It was just a return for KiteWood. Saptapadi might prove better than the price he drifted to but the rest might be much of a muchness.
