If this was your horse….What would you do now?
Personally I would go and take on Frankel he could make history by beating the worlds best horse
September 15, 2012 at 23:28 #413348go for the Arc, what’s to lose?
September 16, 2012 at 03:22 #413359I’d retire him and go and buy a better horse cause he’s got nowhere to go. Take Frankel on Uh Uh!!! Go to the Arc and get his ass kicked and further ruin his resume? Don’t think so.
I must have said a dozen times on here there would be no chance of him running in the Arc and I laid him accordingly…..What was it Aiden said yesterday…"Before today I thought about not running him again this season" Did he give any hint of that when the horse was 5/2 and 3/2 fav for the Arc? No he never….but he knew he was talking shyte when he said this was the best he had ever trained and the plan was always to retire him if he won the St Leger……..every word aimed at the sheds with not one thought for the very people who keep him in a job…the punter.
I couldn’t care less where Camelot goes now as he is not a horse I would rate anywhere near as good as the horses that will contest the remaining top races this season. The likes of Snow fairy and Danedream would eat him for breakfast.
September 16, 2012 at 06:32 #413365The punters being M.Tabor and D.Smith.
September 16, 2012 at 09:14 #413371I would put him away for the year and target next. Yesterday, none of the O’Brien horses ran to expectations (with the possible exception of Starspangledbanner), and he didn’t leave any horses in today’s group races. Therefore, you question whether they may have a problem that they are not totally on top off. Hence why risk Camelot getting beaten again this year when they can start again next.
Of course it may depend on whether Coolmore already has breeders lined up for him.
September 16, 2012 at 09:44 #413373Hurdy could be spot on , on the other hand , they (Coolmore ), may gamble and try and redeem him as a 4 yr old
For me he is no superstar , Sea the stars , would kick him out of the way , Frankel would lap him , heaven knows what will happen next year ….an ordinary derby winner in my opinion

Actually, Coolmore keep him in a job, not "the punter".
September 16, 2012 at 10:42 #413378I always thought this horse was overrated and yesterday just confirmed my suspicions. I half expected him to lose the St Leger many days before.
If he was my horse, I’d just go for broke and stick him in the Champion Stakes
September 16, 2012 at 10:57 #413380Provided he’s fine it depends on if he stays in training, if he doesn’t I’d run him in the Arc otherwise I’d put him away.
September 16, 2012 at 11:07 #413382Anyone that seriously thinks that he could beat Frankel over 10 furlongs needs to seek professional help !
I seriously doubt that Camelot could even get him extended anymore than any of his other "victims" this year.
I think that he is simply the best of a very poor generation of horses.September 16, 2012 at 11:54 #413389I’m mildly glad he got beat.
September 16, 2012 at 12:27 #413402I notice a lot talk of
The two don’t even compare, Camelot yesterday was defeated in his attempt to win the triple crown, and make A P O’Brien the first trainer to win all five English Classics in a SeasonTHANKS TO WAS & HOMECOMING QUEEN & CAMELOT
.
However in both their 3 year old season, Frankel had raced and beaten older horses, something which Camelot was protected from. This in my opinion makes Frankel superior.
CAMELOT should be kept in training as a 4 year old and possibly longer, after all I remember Barathea being defeated by Zafonic in their Guineas only to win at the Breeders Cup Mile the next year.
September 16, 2012 at 16:22 #413439Breeders Cup Turf, duh. Big purse, adds another line to his resume and I think he’ll be plenty capable of handling the American speed freaks.
