Looks like we need a thread for this great handicap too!!
July 8, 2016 at 00:19 #1254791I have backed two ante post at big prices and it looks like both of them are likely to turn up miracle upon miracle.
PERFECT PASTURE ran best of the badly drawn horses in the six furlong handicap at Epsom and seems worth a try at seven at 40/1
FARLOW which ran really well several times in big handicaps last year and looks ready to go having a couple of prep runs this season 28/1
Any thoughts guys???
July 8, 2016 at 15:25 #1254876Great Handicap is a matter of opinion Raymo………..in other words, I’ve never had the winner lol
This years donation will be via Growl, and Bossy Guest. I really liked the way Growl did it last time, and Bossy Guest did me a big favour at 80’s in The Royal Hunt Cup, when he got up for 6th. That was a pretty decent ew return for me, and stopped my Royal Ascot from being a total washout, so happy to have him on my side again, as I thought he ran a great race, and on another day might have been closer.
10’s and 16’s with the 5 places seems decent.

July 8, 2016 at 18:23 #1254895GLORIOUS EMPIRE at 16s for me it been on holiday in Hong Kong and back with Ed Walker with
Ryan Moore a intresting jockey booking it isJuly 9, 2016 at 13:21 #1255037From a trends perspective it seems that the winner is a proven horse that has already won over the distance.
11 of the last 12 winners had carried at least 9-1 and all 12 had already won a 7 furlong race. Of the 20 for today this just leaves 8…
Heaven’ Guest
Emell
Majestic Moon
Glorious Empire
Farlow
B Fity Two
Buststay
Flash FireAll 8 have won a Class 2 Handicap already with Heaven’s Guest winning a Listed race as well (at Naas).
If the going is to be noted Emell and Glorious Empire have not yet won on Good to Firm. The draw doesn’t seem to through up any clues, so of the 6 remaining I am going for Majestic Moon who has won twice from 4 runs on the going at Newmarket’s July Course.
Small each way at 28s.
Good luck with your bets.
July 9, 2016 at 15:01 #1255052GOLDEN STEPS has not shown the form that won him the Stewards Cup last
year at Goodwood, but his last run at Chester was more promising. After missing the start
he made good ground and was closing best at the finish, beaten a fast diminishing 1 1/2L
3rd. He runs off a reasonable mark, 99, just 3lbs up from his Stewards Cup win.8/1 seems a reasonable bet.
July 9, 2016 at 15:50 #1255062Glorious Empire for me at the 14-1 each way

I take it from that, that you hadn’t got him on yet Raymo….bugger
You can still get 16/1 if you have an account with Sportingbet, one of the few
I don’t have an account with, I’ve no idea what they’re like. Outside of them
Skybet are best at 14/1, that might look quite big come the day, if he gets there. He certainly doesn’t owe me anything now, so I might just have a few quid on him.
July 10, 2016 at 13:57 #1255298Red Hot G, well done
July 10, 2016 at 19:46 #1255331Thanks Bobby and Kris, I’m glad Frankie didn’t make me sweat at the finish, he
always had matters in hand. If only they were all like that. Cheers -
