We all have our own ways of doing things but seeing these green and hold horses stuffed time and time again doesn’t mean a whole lot imo. There have been plenty of these horses who haven’t been ‘off’ over the season and then pop up ‘unexpectedly’, off the top of my head Jumptoconclusions, Rathpatrick and Whatareyoudoingtome three blatant ones this season.

Any of you guys over the Sea heard if GP is likely to run? I’ve taken the chance at 33s and 25s EW so hope so

Was at a Preview last night and Bryan Cooper said Stone Hard is a nice horse when questioned about the bumper, didn’t mention General Principle. I’m on him myself, been the most impressive horse for me so hopefully Elliott will get his way.

Well done with Sir Scorpion Tommy, I knew there would probably be a sting in the tail. I thought Princely Conn was going to get there but Sir Scorpion found a bit more to get back up.

As I said, I wasn’t hopeful of Sir Scorpion’s profile but you obviously know more about what the ownership trends are with their horses and I hope you had a nice few quid on.

I thought Blue Hell travelled well enough but, just like last time, the run petered out disappointingly. Timeform had put that down to a probable lack of fitness last time but I can’t buy into that excuse on this occasion. Perhaps there is another problem at work or the horse has regressed. Certainly looks one to avoid for the moment. I wonder where the Scorpion will head next?

It can’t be bad for Moon Racer to see the second, third and fourth from his Fairyhouse win all having won races now. I definitely think Bordini at 6/1 looks an unappealing bet at half the odds of the Pipe horse so I have been into Ladbrokes and doubled my bet, making Moon Racer, Ptit Zig, Road To Riches and Hargam my leading Cheltenham Lights.

Well done anyone else on Sir Scorpion.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Thanks David, was delighted with that. He doesn’t look the most straightforward but he’s done his job for me now so I’m not too pushed where he goes next. He probably won with a bit in hand though so I’ll be interested to see how much he goes up.

Moon Racer’s form looks very solid and he’s definitely a big player. Betair prices seem to suggest General Principle will run and he’ll do for me should he turn up.

For anyone who didn’t catch Moon Racer’s Fairyhouse win, the closing stages of the race can be seen here:-

He looked far from the finished article but looks a nice sort with physical scope. He draws away to win really well.

General Principle won by miles last time but some of those Pro-Am bumpers seem pretty lacking in depth considering the relatively generous 6 or 7 grand prizes. Some of the horses seem to be coming in at intervals more akin to Pony Express riders into Dodge City.

It’s wide open of course but I’m happy with my guy at 12/1 and Ladbrokes cut him in to 8/1 today B-)

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Emma Lavelle’s See The World misses the race having scoped badly.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Pylonthepressure is a surprise non-runner here. Only last evening owner Rich Ricci had said he felt the horse was probably his best prospect, slightly favouring him to favourite Bordini.

These bookie chappies seem to have more luck than a Pox Doctor. Hope those who were on will get their money back.

    Moon Racer for me.

Good luck to everyone trying this annual minefield.

Love this race and as gambler, all bumpers. It just suits my betting style but I didnt back the winner as the last shortish price one i backed in this was Dunguib. One thing i do notice is that beating up a few also rans around irish tracks just doesnt prepare alot of horses for this and it was particularly noticeable with many of them today. THe standing start was a disaster. Wouldnt have predicted an Irish shut out.

As I said, I rarely get involved with the Bumper these days but I thought Moon Racer had arguably the best form and I felt strongly that he would start shorter than the advised 12/1 come the day of the race.

Moon Racer missed the break and had to suffer stuck behind horses. I actually felt his chance had probably gone and was pretty impressed by the way he toughed it out and came through to win.

I think Willie Mullins’ best finishing place was about 10th and Bordini was a bitter disappointment being pulled up, having been described in glowing terms beforehand.

Moon Racer was said to be headed over two miles in the hurdling game as a starting point next season. He is 8/1 for both the Supreme Novices and The Neptune next year. I would probably prefer the latter race and certainly can’t see any value in Stan James 5/1 for The Supreme Novices, as the only horse quoted, at this distant stage.

I’ll settle for counting the 12/1 cash and reflect that 9/1 was still available last night in a couple of places for this race.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
