Was surprised Stoute (who has won it 12 times) didn’t elect to run Passenger (he went to Chester instead) in this race as it is usually where he starts most of his older 10-12F horses.
Hopefully this was just a one off poor turnout (although King of Steel’s injury prevented him from adding that bit of star quality) as the race has a rich history of stars on its roll of honour as previously mention by ERL (going further back you have other multiple G1 winners like Kalaglow, Stanerra, Commanche Run, Mtoto, and Opera House).

I think it’s safe to say Sir Michael is having a rather slower start to the season.”Only” 27 runners so far, but his four year olds look quite promising: Hossana Power won first time out in a handicap at Newbury and Fox Journey (another 4-yo) won by 11 lengths at Newmarket and is now rated 100.
There will be a few ones to come from him, but Passenger aside he might not have too much at the present.
Nostrum (OR 114) has been gelded after his last run at Sandown and maybe Real Dream (5yo) could be another one worth following. - AuthorPosts
