I be going to Sandown on Thursday so am looking forward to it hopefully no rain

    TRAWLERMAN

Should be to good in the stayers race

    ALMAQRAM 5/2

Won on this card last year and expect him to again with Gosden horse carrying a penalty and 1st run of the year.

Clear Force in the national stakes might be 2nd fave but think beat the Hannon horse.

When full prices out for other races come out I add tips here

Almaqram is my pick if the rain comes, think if it stays on the quicker side he does hit that flat spot about two out. Hopefully know by the morning about the amount of rain hit, today/overnight.

Have a good evening mate use to love going to this meeting

In the Henry II I’ve backed Burdett Road @ 7/1 with a saver on Trawlerman @ Evens.

Burdett Road won the Godolphin Stakes at Newmarket by 8 1/2 lengths, making all last year. Wasn’t usually a front runner on the flat, but (bar the champion Hurdle) thrived as a front runner on over hurdles. Only around 4 lengths behind Trawlerman when running in the Champion Long Distance Cup – only just behind Al Nayyir. Progressive both on the flat and over jumps so more may well be coming. Not 100% sure to be as good on a firmer surface, but unlike Al Nayyir doesn’t have a pronounced rounded action. Although Trawlerman can lead and Coltrane can press the pace, I suspect a leader / prominent runner may well be favoured in this 5 (now 4) runner race.

Have saved on Trawlerman, although he’s often placed his actual form shown imo hasn’t been as good away from Ascot. That said, even his non-Ascot form should just about be good enough here. Unlike two of her rivals is fully effective on a firmer surface.

I wanted to be against Coltrane. For me – now he’s 8 years old might need a “greater test of stamina” than he gets here – unless they go a strong pace. Going forward he’d be more one for the Queen Alex’ than Gold Cup.

Al Nayyir has a good chance on the book but seems more consistent on softer ground. Stamina very much his strong-suit. A hold up horse, will need them to go a good pace if he’s to be effective here and looked out of form when last seen in the Middle-East.

Well done with Almaqam Nick :yahoo: never in doubt very impressive. Shame no Ancient Wisdom and Persica.

Great seeing Trawlerman come home and I got my 7/2 Double up with Paddy Power when Opera Ballo won. :good: So no money lost tonight and some decent pointers to Royal Ascot. :good:
