I heard on SSR today about how the 2024 Breeders Cup will be at Del Mar.
I do not follow American racing particularly closely. However, if I recall correctly, isn’t the draw a significant factor at the venue? I am sure it was an issue at the first Breeders Cup at Del Mar.
Should the “World Championship” be at a venue where the outcome can literally be luck of the draw?

Hasn’t been at Belmont Park since 2005.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 24, 2023 at 03:05 #1636808Breeders Cup is a week later than it used to be, and New York in November can get awfully cold and sometimes icy. Hollywood and Arlington are closed, Lone Star and Monmouth were both clusterf*cks because the tracks lacked enough capacity for the crowds, and the Stronach Group that purchased Gulfstream in 1999 has made Santa Anita its crown jewel and turned Gulfstream into little more than a casino.
A track that really does deserve to host it is the beautiful and historic Fair Grounds in New Orleans, Louisiana, the oldest Thoroughbred racetrack in North America still in operation. If it can handle half a million people for the jazz festival every year it should be fine with a Breeders Cup.
As for Del Mar’s rail bias, I don’t have the statistics on hand but I haven’t noticed it as being much different than any other track of its size.
