I thought Wimbledon Hawkeye worth an ew in the turf. Should like the ground and Frankie has placed on each of his mounts so far.

American commentator reminding the fans watching a 12f race: “don’t cheer too loudly when they come past the finishing post the first time, they’re coming back around”

And after, “Rishi Persad, how are you going to explain that to the fans back home?”
To which the answer should surely have been simply, “He’s trained by Willie Mullins”.

Perhaps Willie is going for the US trainers championship too now

I think Rebels Romance would’ve won if Buick had gotten a gap when needed.

Mullins is a complete genius though. I had Ethical Diamond at 66/1 for the Melbourne Cup but vets wouldn’t let him run due to a screw in his leg.

Absolute genius, I’m glad to see a gelding win such a prestigious G1 Flat race. Too bad he can’t win an Arc though he’s only five and might find further improvement next year.
    Well done to Willie….

Would love to see The Lion in Winter win the mile but my hunch is that Sahlan may prefer this kind of terrain and give the favourite most to worry about

Just been texting my work colleague from Donegal (her grandad trained flappers which is how she knows him). “A lovely wee fella” she said, when we were talking the other day about him being champion jockey. “How much would Dylan get for winning that?” she asked tonight.
    “10% of $3.15 million I think”
“Jesus mother of god that is some lift”. ;-)

What an honest man Willy Mullins is. His interviews give the imporession that what he says is true, not a mixture of PR and sleight of hand. I lost money on the race, but I could not be more pleased to see a real somewhat off the wall idea from Willie’s assistant taken on by the man himself, who having made the assessment, left it to the marvellously talented young jockey to taske everyone’s collective breath away. Long may he continue to amaze us all.

Forgive me for indicating that Ethical Diamond was the winner I meant, which is a gelding.

How come it was said he was here on the way to Australia when he said after the Ebor it wouldn’t be allowed to run in Australia?
