I thought that, at the start of the pandemic, the government resolved to provide beds for homeless people. What happened to that? Didn’t part of the problem start when the government at the time ( I don’t know which one it was but I can guess) decided to close down mental hospitals and go for a Scandinavian style care in the community approach. Except that they didn’t provide the community care bit. ( not saying that all homeless people have mental problems by the way: it’s very easy to get into a downward spiral and once there very difficult to get back up again: I’ve always been aware of that after reading Orwell’s ‘A Clergyman’s Daughter’ many decades ago. I could easily have ended up in that downward spiral myself in my teenage years).

Very true and it was the caring sharing Thatcher mob that did it, they closed all the convalescent homes at the same time.

Not that I am either, but I’d rather be lily-livered than bone-headed.

    ….and Chezza.

He meant “Spot on Moe, Purwell, Gladiateur and especially Chezza.”

    He didn’t?

    Jesus.

    Had days like this.

Honestly Chezza: you’re no longer metamorphosing but full on narcissistic.

No you’re right Chezza, and a few other, I was simply looking
at this page when I replied, otherwise I obviously would have
said “especially Chezza” I seek your forgiveness.

Moehat is the wise woman – she KNOWS!

    Love that!

    “I seek your forgiveness.”

And BigG’s gentle (giant) sarcasm isn’t far behind.

This is why Chezza loves TRF!

Not many Parties win five consecutive General Elections and this Tory Party isn’t best placed to buck the trend.

Never estimate the power of the concept “Time For A Change” and once it gathers momentum there’s usually no turning back.

We had that painting in our living room for years. I can’t help but feel (worryingly) that it must have influenced my growing family in some way*.DD, a Scout leader, asked if we still had the painting as she needed it for the next Scout meeting. It was long since gone and I didn’t ask her why she wanted it at the time but I’m curious now. It might not have been the actual picture that she wanted but the chipboard it was attached to. It was so heavy it was a public health risk. Anyone remember the pictures we had on our walls back then, all from Athena and mostly by Bruegel (sp).
    * It’s influence, hopefully, might have been counteracted by a sweet little picture of a harvest mouse on the opposite wall.

The only Athena one that comes to mind Moe is the girl tennis
player, walking away from the camera, tucking her ball into,….well not a lot.

No idea why it stuck in my head.

SIL has (or wanted to have that) that in the loo in his man cave. There was a bit of an argument about whether it would be allowed. I’m not sure who won. I must point out that he is in no way a misogynist, that would be difficult with me as a MIL and my daughter as a wife.It was very much of it’s time.

Purwell, she was an 18 year old Fiona Butler. The original mini dress
worn by Fiona was later sold for £15,500 at auction. Google Athena
tennis girl poster and all will be revealed, well not…..just
    google it.
