    2020 Ante Post

Van Gogh Free bet to win £1322.95 Laid £45 @ 10.87 Derby NR + £45
    Mac Swinney £1.25 to win £913.73 Lost – £1.25

Santa Barbara Free bet to win £356 Oaks Laid £25 @ 5.76 Lost + £25.00

Down to 3 runners with one of them looking very 50/50 for next weekend. Require £24 to retrieve the losses after getting the sums wrong for May. Deserve a medal for getting this far never mind scrambling around for £24 considering the first bet was placed 13 months ago.

Last man standing from 31 starters, no winner yet but quite chuffed get my cash back in the wallet and end up with a free takeaway tonight considering. Must admit it does sound a lot better than losing £650.

You could not make it up if you tried. Had maybe a double handful of very satisfying bets the last four years but i don’t think any of them come close to today’s race. God knows how many attempts over the years i have had with long range ante post bets in the Derby, must be at least 50 without winning it. Probably the only big race left now thinking about it, so it means quite a lot.

Got as good a chance as anything with good old Mac Swinney. I think he is the best horse in the race, had 3 Group 1 winners behind him last time so must have the best looking form going into it.

Obviously a question mark about the ground but more concerned that he will throw in one of them howlers than anything else. Also i find with these long range ones you end up convincing yourself you have it right and just block everything else out.

Looks a great race anyway, so fingers crossed we see a great champion whoever wins. :rose:

    Maybe next year

    Final tally

    Opening bank £500
    Closing Bank after 48 months + £17,015.03
    Total Profit + £16,515.03
