Another year bites the dust and good riddance to it as well !
Another couple of accounts bit the dust the last fortnight bringing the total to 13 over the last four years. The other day i made a 30 mile round trip to back a horse as i could only get £3 online.Did a bit of Chrimbo shopping, so killed two birds with one stone which made it worth my time. Wrote the slip out £30 @ 66/1 and asked if that was ok and the lass said “yeah no probs, if it was £100 i would have to phone up and ask permission.” It just does not make sense honestly.
Been a great four years and said plenty of times i would be happy at breaking even, so to end up with a big profit was way beyond expectations. No idea how much has been staked over that time but to break even and have had a probable four figure amount of bets is a very good result when you think about it.
Overall it has been a very good exercise from a punting point of view. Had a look through the first two threads last night and it seemed like a different person betting compared to now. always been a bit of a screamer when my horse was in with a chance of winning but nowadays i don’t even blink having a decent winner. Honestly if this years Melbourne Cup was a couple of years ago the riot vans would of been outside the house. Even the Boooooooom’s went missing in action.
Really become bored with doing this thread now and fancy trying doing something totally different. Will update the Ante Post bets with any lays if they shorten enough over time and then do a final tally after the Derby.

Only had 5 bets in January and not really into to it this year for some reason. Should look clearer by the end of February re. Cheltenham. A few NR’s, a few looking better than they did, a few not looking too clever and the rest are 50/50. Be happy enough with a couple of winners from them

No winner over jumps yet in 2021 and not looking too clever at all for Cheltenham. Needed a few good runs from 3 or 4 of them but they ran appallingly. A few not turning up, one trainer banned and God knows what is happening with another one, does not give much to be optimistic about. Quite happy if i get 4 or 5 runners out of it and looks like a good decision to of gone a bit steady with the Ante Post too early this year.
Got a handful of NRNB bets on, which are more a less the same price they are when i placed them, so don’t really have an intention getting involved with anything else at all apart from a placepot and a little yankee each day.
