Came down to two here, Cadell, and Grozni.
Thought Cadell was really good last time, while Grozni has been really poor since moving yards.
Think Cadell has further progression in him, while Grozni has one target in him.
I’ll bet both, but started chipping away at Grozni, for all there must be a chance I could get bigger at weekend
Edit – Final Decs
Looked at De Legislator, but something like The Eider or Scottish National a lot more likely surely
I’m only betting Grozni off last years form, not this years, and although I’ve been touting Sandy Thomson yard for long enough on here, equally, his must still be treated with caution. If it’s a no show today, then I’ll have to stick with him, and could be one for Edinburgh or Scottish National later in year. Had a saver on Cadell at 11’s, as he did win well last time (cashed out)
Cadell No Bet
Grozni 30’s EW4PlsDecember 2, 2025 at 05:19 #1746444I’ll tickle Grozni but the De ligislator needed every yard to win at Ayr last time and looks a real national type , expect him to run a big race here
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 2, 2025 at 14:08 #1746469I’ll bet De Legislator if he runs, but I’ve already bet Diamond Deal at 8-1
December 3, 2025 at 19:44 #1746563Have to agree that De Legislator looks, on the face of it, a bit of a shoe in for this but Lucinda’s jockeys have been known to floor one!
Neo King could be interesting. If a claimer goes on again running off 9-10 or thereabouts will be a big plus. You can see that when he runs off a featherweight he tends to go close. He’s finished 223 in his chases when carrying less than 11st.
A willingness to fight at the business end is the issue as it can be with some of the Coastal Path’s.
December 6, 2025 at 21:50 #1746857The Borders National over 4m is staged on Sunday at Kelso, my favourite track, well worth a visit. Plenty in with a chance as there always should be in these handicaps, so the key is seeking value. Fairlawn Flyer appeals at 22/1, but overall the best value is the 12/1 about Catch Catchfire.
Unexposed, this his 9th race overall and his 4th ‘chase, stepping up in trip should also suit. He won two chases last season, albeit class 5s (this is class 3), but he was backed on his seasonal debut 3 weeks ago when he might well have won had Charlie Todd not asked for his effort too soon. Charlie Maggs, an excellent 5lbs claimer takes over here, negating the 4lbs out of the handicap.
Ground and trip won’t be an issue. Trainer Ian Williams had a winner and two 3rds on Saturday.
I’d thought at least one bookie would offer 4 places, but they all stick to 3. I recommend an EW bet at 12/1
December 6, 2025 at 23:51 #1746870Grozni 16s win only
December 7, 2025 at 00:25 #1746886Neo King for me.
December 7, 2025 at 11:30 #1746904Very keen on De Legislator , while he’s 8 he’s low mileage and could well be one back at Ayr in April , Grozni is the handicap play however I just wonder if Ayr is the long term plan for Sandy , would surprise me to see him staying on late
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 7, 2025 at 13:38 #1746924Gold Clermont 11-2.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 7, 2025 at 13:46 #1746925De Legislator ew
December 7, 2025 at 13:56 #1746929Well done wotr on the 8-1 for Diamond Dealer, I’m with you, but only at 8-1
De Legislator for me as backup, but I agree with the comments on those targets later in the year vtc. Is the yard really firing?

Good prep run by Breeze Of Wind for the 4 mile chase at Hexham on the Thursday of Cheltenham week.
