friend just copied me slip of a win Heinz placed at Ascot today with one of the big UK bookies (57 bets x 5p = £2.85).

bookie advertises as maximum winnings there £1,000,000, yet the slip shows returns capped at £250,000.

any other instances of bookies interpreting “Safer Gambling” as “making us Safer from a big payout” ?

I’ve had several ‘Safer Gambling’ emails from firms this week where I’m restricted to getting only a paltry amount on. I’ve never played their casino or arcade games but do play free ones when they are offered in an email. Earlier this week five free Coral spins won me £1.49 which I then tried to place on an 11/4 chance but was met with a ‘Maximum stake is 75p’ !!! I despair to think what the founders of these old established firms would say if they could see what has become of them.

I have in the past known bookies refuse to pay out on winning multiples because they maintained that some of the races were not covered by “full service”. This usually happens when there are lots of meetings on a bank holiday.
I would have expected all races at Ascot to have been “full service”.

I’m stuck in the past + still much prefer my shop bets for my horse + coupons, but I do have some on-line accounts. Every time I’ve logged in they are bombarding me with offers + invites for casinos.

They’ve got a cheek to say that they’re on board with safer gambling week.
