Strong fancy for Threading here tomorrow. Available early doors at 4’s. Ignoring her 3 flops at Newmarket which she clearly doesn’t handle, she’s the clear form pick.

Won her maiden at this meeting by 6 lengths, so no course worries. Get’s 3 pounds weight allowance to boot.

I think this track will suit Threeandfourpence and although he only did what on paper he should have done 9 days ago it at least showed he isn’t under the cloud that many from the stable seem to be under. If he runs to the same mark that saw him finish 4th in the Irish 2000 Guineas then he’s got the beating of the colts and it would mean Threading would have to bring her a-game to beat him; which is no certainty given from her 4 runs this year she’s run 2 crackers and 2 shockers. Threeandfourpence has then, for the most part, kept to his form when campaigning on this side of the Atlantic better than the filly. So at the prices, I’d rather back O’Brien’s colt at 7/2 than Johnston’s filly at 9/4.

Taken 5/2 Threading and 11/2 Ostilio.

Threading might not seem that consistent on her overall form; but take the Newmarket runs out and it’s a different story. She won her maiden at Goodwood impressively. If running to the Coronation Stakes or Haydock form I expect her to win for a stable that (as per normal) is in terrific form this week.

Ostilio is on the up. Won her last two, including the Britania by making all off a mark of 90. Change of jockey is unfortunate. Ostilio did seem at one point to be fighting to go faster and SDS is particularly good with these types. But Andrea is a good enough replacement. As long as the rank outsider doesn’t take him on could get an easy lead. Front runners seem to do better at this meeting once the false rail is removed too. imo Should be second favourite.

Regal Reality is interesting and no doubt has plenty of scope for improvement – but needs to find a lot. Only two runs to his name and hasn’t run since May and both of those on softer ground. Looks very short at 4/1.

Charles makes a good point about Threeandfourpence running well fairly recently and therefore more likely to run well compared to others in the stable. However, was 4/9 fav in a 4 horse race. On form has a reasonable chance tomorrow, but probably wrong to judge him on proximity to stable companions US Navy Flag (didn’t stay) and Gustav Klimt (below form) in Irish 2000 Guineas – Threeandfourpence flattered. imo One to take on at the prices.

Glorious Journey needs to do a lot better than 9th to Expert Eye last time. Previously beaten in worse Group 3’s than this and needs a career best here.

Chief Ironside 8 lengths 5th off a mark of 96 last time out on the 13th of this month; doesn’t give much time to improve. That a 7 lbs higher mark than when winning penultimate start. Doesn’t look up to this. Front runner and hopefully doesn’t get in the way of Ostilio.

On Threeandfourpence whilst he won easy enough he wasn’t beating much- 2nd horse probably not up to much and others were v inexperienced. I said afterwards when watching the 2 in behind will probably end up pretty progressive in comparison to the front 2 who have had plenty of racing early on.

I haven’t a bet readily planned for this race right now as the one thing i’d worry about with Regal Reality is “is he ready for a tricky track like this vs experienced rivals?” other than that he’d be the one.

I was on Glorious Journey each way in the Jersey at 28/1 and I thought he was abit unlucky in running.

I’ve had a bet on him here at 11/2 and also backed Threading at 5/2 for the same reasons as mentioned in the OP.

    Glorious Journey @ 11/2 & Threading @ 5/2

Ostilio looks like a vastly improving sort and i’m happy to have a small play on him at 11/2.

Threading well backed this morning but on TV looked to have run up light.
Threeandfourpence another Ballydoyle horse to run poorly.
    Two best horses didn’t show.

I was really impressed with Regal Reality today, and not for the first time, having sen him in the flesh at Yarmouth last year. A very nice horse, who they’ve clearly been patient with, and surely more to come.

He was very good- drifted a lot too, but i still didn’t get involved.

Looks a good horse for Stoute to take his time with + progress.
