Khaloosy looks the right favourite here, and he’ll be hard to beat, but I think that Well of Wisdom is interesting around 7’s.
I’ll stick with the ever reliable Ropey Guest though. He’s unlikely to win, but he’s always overpriced, and 25’s looks ok to me.
If I see bigger, I’ll take it, but for now…..
Ropey Guest 25’s EW
July 28, 2020 at 12:39 #1495349I’ll definitely bet Well of Wisdom at 10-1 just now, I think that’s a great price.
July 28, 2020 at 13:31 #1495362I might take on the favourite here, has his rating gone up too high after last time? In which case he don’t have much if anything in hand. Will have a look nearer the time to see what the opposition will be.
July 28, 2020 at 13:46 #1495364I like My Oberon who bolted up last time at York to win by 6 L best price 13/2.
July 29, 2020 at 14:11 #1495539A lot of opposition to the fave has come out so he will do for me.
July 31, 2020 at 14:25 #1495868I wasn’t convince by that favorite running on fast ground after winning off the soft. Anyone back the winner.
July 31, 2020 at 14:31 #1495871think the problem was more the field size
They went slow early and khaloosy was very very keen
No surprise he found nothing for pressure
July 31, 2020 at 14:44 #1495874Maureen Haggas is livid that the positions weren’t changed. I have some sympathy as the 2nd wasn’t given a position to rally as he got chopped off.
July 31, 2020 at 15:37 #1495881The stewarding in British racing is an absolute shambles
Way too lenient
July 31, 2020 at 18:07 #1495901Maureen Haggas is right. The winner should have been disqualified – no question.
Moore made little or no attempt to keep his horse straight. It was disgraceful riding.
It was a joke that Havlin got off on appeal as well.
Kevin Blake raised the issue of interference and poor riding in his blog last week. He is right as well.
What is it going to take for the stewards to take action? Does a rider have to suffer serious injuries or worse? We have been complacent about this for far too long.
Blake made the point that in the last 16 years only one ride has been deemed to be dangerous by the stewards. Is there anyone anywhere who thinks that is remotely credible?
July 31, 2020 at 19:19 #1495910I have no doubt that, had he known his horse would veer quite so quickly and dramatically, Moore wouldn’t have made that move. However, he would have been well aware that it was risky and wouldn’t have made it if he wasn’t confident that he would face no serious penalty. The fact is that My Oberon and Marquand could have been killed and, unless the stewards start taking this seriously, there will be a tragedy
July 31, 2020 at 19:35 #1495915At least moore had his whip in the correct hand and was hitting the horse to try to make it go left not right
Havlin didn’t even do that
A disgrace that his ban was overturned
Its gonna take a horse/jockey being seriously injured for changes to the system to happen
July 31, 2020 at 19:47 #1495917Agree stewards here far too lenient, think I heard Ryan Moore got 6 days ban for that ride, Pat Dobbs later got 3 days for barging his way through in the Golden Mile causing interference to a couple of horses.
Stewards in Australia at least have banned Hugh Bowman for 6 weeks for his awful ride that caused severe injuries and hospitalised a jockey, caused the death of one horse and another horse has been left with a broken leg but has been operated on so may survive.
Need far stiffer penalties here. - AuthorPosts
