Shock, horror, it’s the Bombay Hunt Cup and you’re all wondering what the hell it’s worth mentioning for.
Well, it’s possible that Sire De Grugy will take part and he could face Melodic Rendezvous.
Paddy Power have opened a book and, unsurprisingly, the expensive failure when falling in the Game Spirit, Sire De Grugy heads the market at 11/8.
The full list is:-
Sire De Grugy 11/8Melodic Rendezvous 7/2
Solar Impulse 4
Far West 5
Grey Gold 5
Chris Pea Green 10
Ballygarvey 14
Bobcatbilly 16
Mister Grez 16
De Faoithesdream 20
Definite Dream 20
Ubaltique 20
Vivaccio 20
Whispering Harry 25
Shrapnel 33
I thought Sire De Grugy was a good thing last time but he fell and after 3 falling naps in a row I am bypassing this race and all others till Cheltenham.
Safe in that knowledge, all others can probably wire in and watch him jump like a stag and win on the bridle, free from the burden of the Caution 40p on his back

I hope Solar Impulse runs a decent race to boost my Arkle rank outsider Three Kingdoms, who pipped that one last time.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 17, 2015 at 22:27 #751287I can’t figure Gary Moore out here. He said that he would decide today about going to Chepstow for this race and that if all was well with the horse he would be running.
He has now said that he was "very satisfied" with Sire De Grugy but announced that he will delay the decision as to whether to run or not until later.
Frankly this sounds like bollocks to me and I haven’t been enamoured by his talk to walk ratio in the lead up to Cheltenham with this horse. Either the horse is ready to rock or he isn’t, this waiting another few days smacks of a man who knows he’s not going to defend the Champion Chase crown this year.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 18, 2015 at 18:46 #751366PP not taking many chances betting to 111% with just the first 6 in the field.
February 21, 2015 at 12:18 #75169193% the Book across the boards and Sire De Grugy an ominous looking 6/4 on Betfair.
The ground is heavy in places and I just don’t see this being an ideal Cheltenham prep even if he wins.
You would ideally want an easy pop round to restore confidence but how likely is that giving weight away in that type of ground.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
