It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Bobs Worth has suffered a freak accident in the field and has passed away. He was more than a horse to us, part of the family and will leave a huge void in our lives. RIP our friend and thank you for the amazing memories. pic.twitter.com/KhMgRqaHiQ

Terrible news.
January 20, 2022 at 15:16 #1578873Very sad to hear. He was a real favourite and did me a good turn when he won both the Hennessy and the Gold Cup.
He was very brave at Cheltenham but he had a hard race and I don’t think he was ever quite the same afterwards. But he was a very good horse winning the Bartlett, RSA and Gold Cup in successive years.
Condolences to his connections.

heartbreaking he will be missed by many especially those connected to him. And those who cared for him in retirement and loved him so.Rip
VF xJanuary 20, 2022 at 17:04 #1578886Brilliant little horse. Looked like he’d ran his race in the gold cup only to come alive again at the bottom of the hill. Won the Lexus the following year but wasn’t the same ultra-reliable horse after his gruelling gold cup win.
January 20, 2022 at 19:38 #1578903Sad news. I followed the horse the season he won the Gold Cup he was very good. RIP.
January 21, 2022 at 19:44 #1579072Such a sad end for a well-loved horse … and one so well remembered and thought of by many of us (the loss of any is sad I know). RIP brave one
