Shame that the Queen Of The North has been retired but sounds like it was the right decision. I’ve recently ordered a LB scarf from Jayne, will have to wait to wave it about until the baby buttons are up and running

Thought this was sad news as Enbihaar looked top class

September 30, 2020 at 18:07 #1504238Shame that Enbihaar had to leave so soon to take up her stud duties but looking forward to the progeny of this talented long distance mare.
Not many fillys reach the standard that she has in her career and so it was wise to protect her by retiring her after her injuryWish her a long and happy retirement.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 4, 2020 at 16:02 #1504947RTV report Nicky Richard’s as saying Simply Ned has been retired. He ran unplaced at Kelso today in the race he has won a few times before. During his career he won two Grade 1s in Ireland.
He was a good, honest chaser and hope he has a happy retirement.
October 4, 2020 at 17:24 #1504973I’ll second that Cork All Star. I’ve followed Simply Ned ever since his bumper win at Kelso and today’s race has been a regular starting point for each season. Just a pity we Kelso regulars weren’t able to give him the farewell he deserves. Hopefully Nicky Richards will bring Ned back to parade when crowds return.
The race that really typified Simply Ned’s attitude was his awarded Group 1 at Leopardstown. Min nearly put him through the rails yet Ned stuck his head out in ‘**** you style’ and being awarded the race was a formality.
Here’s to Simply Ned’s long and haopy retirement.
October 4, 2020 at 17:55 #1504976Yes, he must have been a fabulous horse to own. He tried his heart out every time. Even today you could see he was trying his best but his old legs could not carry him fast enough.
As you say, a real pity there was no crowd there but let’s hope he gets to lead a parade somewhere soon if we ever get back to normal.
October 4, 2020 at 19:26 #1504984Hopefully they’ll name a race after him at Kelso and he can parade for that. Happy Retirement Simply Ned – well deserved.
October 5, 2020 at 15:34 #1505064Surely they’ll name one after him at Leopardstown.
Fantastic news to see him retired in one piece, especially after the stable lost one or two in the past 3-4 weeks.
A happy and also very long retirement, Ned!
October 5, 2020 at 17:55 #1505083Lovely to hear that Simply Ned has been retired fit and well to enjoy his retirement.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 5, 2020 at 21:52 #1505094Echoing the sentiments already issued on here. Delighted to see Simply Ned bow out at Kelso and in one piece. Remarkable horse.
October 8, 2020 at 12:11 #1505299Good to see old Limato retired in one piece. May he have a long and happy retirement.
October 8, 2020 at 18:58 #1505347Happy retirement Limato
Thanks for all the fantastic races you have won especially The Criterion Stakes on 29th June 2019 at Newmarket where your doting trainer couldn’t wait to come out and congratulate you.We will miss you but enjoy your well earned retirement Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 8, 2020 at 19:36 #1505353I remember when Limato won the 2yo race at Redcar. He must have been one of the biggest certainties to look through a bridle that day.
After that I never seemed to get him right, opposing him when he won and backed him when he lost! I think his win in the July Cup was the highlight. It looked a really competitive race but he won with ease.
I hope he enjoys his retirement.
October 8, 2020 at 19:38 #1505355Two of my favourites – Limato & Simply Ned. Great that they both go out sound & can look forward to long & happy retirements. They’ve given us so much over the past few years
October 9, 2020 at 00:01 #1505391I am pleased to hear Limato has been retired in one piece.
I love the horse and have seen him run live in the UK, France and Dubai. A true warrior summed up by his return win this year in the Criterion Stakes at Newmarket.
Enjoy the grass legend
