wasent it great to hear nigel twiston davies refer to pigeon islands last run being in the schweppes hurdle despite it being known as the tote gold trophy for the last 20 years.
Truly was. I just cant used to the name beig changed…….I have no idea why the sposors dropped out but it could be the race has lost a lot of it’s clout…..it was at one time up there with races like The Hennessy and attracted a lot of top horses in it’s time.

Personally I think it’s a bit ridiculous.
What will happen if sponsors get annoyed if they don’t get the coverage that their patronage deserves and pulls their money? Where will we be then?

I still call the Paddy Power the Mackeson, and the one after that the Massey Ferguson.
The RSA will always be the Sun Alliance, and the Dipper Novices Chase belongs at Newcastle!
I din’t even know the Mackeson and the Paddy Power were the same race I must have been drunk that year
