What if Binocular goes for the Bula.
I think we saw on Saturday in the WBX Fighting Fifth that the slow pace doesnt suit him and he doesnt have the pace we thought. With the exception of CH is there a top 2 mile hurdler who makes the pace in the UK?
So, what if Binocular goes for the Bula and Punjabi is saved for the Xmas Hurdle? Would give Punjabi to get fit after he missed the FF and would give the horses the races that suit them better.
I wouldnt be surprised if that happened.
December 1, 2009 at 16:13 #261541Given that Hurricane Fly, Solwhit, Binocular and some others all want pace in their races, I’m hoping that it means they will look to run against Celestial Halo and/or Zaynar in some of the trial races (which would help clarify the Champion Hurdle picture somewhat too).

If not we might begin to see pacemakers like O Brien employs in Group 1 races on the flat!
December 2, 2009 at 10:38 #261738Where’s Dr Pritchard’s faithful old pace influence Fifth Generation when you need him! Having him barrel off in front for a circuit invariably ensured a truly-run contest.
As a point of fact, where’s Dr Pritchard full stop? Can’t recall him having sent out a runner for nigh on a season – back doing the medical stuff full-time again?

He always was one of jump racing’s more endearing underwoofs, as well as, I seem to recall, one of those instrumental in successfully pushing for all jump jockeys yet to have won X races to claim an allowance (not just those still under a certain age, as previously).
