    Not a great night for getting the (kick in the) plum(s) draw at Beverley.

    In the Hilary Needler the highest drawn horse had obviously recieved the Baron Monteagle letter and made his excuses at the start. The remaining highest drawn horse and fav was then overhauled by the lowest drawn/widest running complete rag.

    In the following race the plum drawn fav lost its footing in the swamp.

    Surely it’s only a matter of time before they push the rails out on safety grounds/to prevent the stalls sinking in the swamp and institue a 14/15 runner safety limit.

    The betting’s looking very ominous this afternoon. Low draws getting smashed into in the sprints and the 16 draw has made its excuses in the second race.

    Going stick readings according to the BHA website suggest the middle of the track is slowest (7.5) but there is little between the far side (8.8) and near side (8.9)
