Im thinking of going to Beverley races while on holiday in the area in June , this means taking the kids and i normally avoid summer meetings due to the number of ‘lads’ getting legless … is it generally an ‘ok’ track to visit ?
Whenever I see Beverley, Thirsk or Ripon on the fixture list I always think summer has finally arrived – all three courses seem to be very well thought of.
They certainly help give the impression that Yorkshire isn’t always about bloody-minded, flat-capped, whippet-loving, ale-supping, anachronistic know-alls with strange views on cricket and women.
All arranged and Beverley pencilled in for end of June , we are staying in Malton ….is it possible to go up to the gallops in the morning to see the horses working or are they all predominantly private gallops ??…sorry ,im showing my ignorance of the area here !!
