Gutted, but the risks in betting Ante-Post are there before you part with your cash, unfortunately with WPM, those risks are magnified tenfold.
I can’t have another big bet in this now, so maybe just The Twisler or Heartbreak City for fun.
August 19, 2016 at 13:27 #1260430Mullins can’t be blamed this time. The horse is lame.
August 19, 2016 at 14:31 #1260445I think SHREWD is in with a real shout, I’m glad I grabbed him at 25s, but I think
Paddy Power are sticking their neck out still offering 20/1 (16s &14s elsewhere) after
IVAN was withdrawn.August 19, 2016 at 14:59 #1260448Good Luck with Shrewd G !!
But I am happy with mine so time will tell!!
August 19, 2016 at 17:10 #1260470Yes, Shrewd does look good; what happened to the claimer on the Twisler. Did I imagine it?? Think he’s go a good draw too.

I saw a shadowy figure emerge from Ivan Grozny’s box toting a crowbar at about midnight last night. It must have been one of those DIY store own brand tools, as it said P.Power on the handle.
I called out “Is that you Willie” to which the mystery man called back “No, it’s not me”
Mmm?
Hard luck not getting a run, just for a change the best backed horse doesn’t turn up right at the 11th hour. It seems to happen more than the law of averages would suggest but that’s probably just the conspiracy theory.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Must of knew the draw 21 of 21
August 19, 2016 at 18:06 #1260483Sorry Venture to Cognac but 66-1 E/W The Twisler 5 Places proved too much for me.
If it’s any consolation i did back Litigant last year @50’s +
August 20, 2016 at 00:41 #1260576lol Botchy, I had a wee bit of that myself, too good to resist. Down to 50’s now with BF, but Paddy Power are holding the 66’s, albeit with 4 places. I’ll be looking for a big price win and ew on the exchanges tomorrow with any luck.
Hopefully lightning will strike twice for you (and also moe and I), and you can have another tasty price in this race after Litigant
August 20, 2016 at 16:20 #1260724WELL DONE Botchy, and Joliff Great stuff!!!
And all the shrewdies on SHREWD great run hope you were on eachway
August 20, 2016 at 16:30 #1260725Yes I had him e/w at 25s Raymo, he finished like a train but the winner had got the march on him.
Well done to Botchy and Joliff, well picked out guysAugust 20, 2016 at 17:17 #1260729Most impressive winner and IG would have struggled to beat him. Congrats to Botchy and Joliff and all backers
August 20, 2016 at 18:19 #1260733Thanks all, had HC at 20/1, £2 e/w so was pleased to see he’d been backed before the off, and his performance was breathtaking. Definitely a horse on the up.
August 20, 2016 at 19:10 #1260736Thanks everyone and also congrats to joliff.
I broke my TRF cherry on getting a decent priced winner.
I will be keeping an eye on Heartbreak City over the next few months. Probably running in 6 F Sprints and then in 4 mile chases before a 2 mile Handicap at Cheltenham.
August 24, 2016 at 10:09 #1261013Good Morning…….just catching up on here….
The Twisler was fit and ready to go for The Ebor, but alas the promised/threatened rain did not come enough.
All forecasts were for heavy rain………nope! He’s come back fine, Darryl Holland was, as you saw, pretty kind to him from well out.
We’re entered in the Old Borough Cup at Haydock, September 3rd. Again….rain needed.Charlie Bennett was taken off of Twis by H Morrison to ride Fun Mac. Hopefully CB will be “allowed” back on him.
Twis is now rated 100, so with another 5lb off will be nicely weighted. It’s been a frustrating year, not really had his optimum conditions anywhere, he’s a cracking horse and we’re sure he’s still got lots more to come.
I’m looking forward (gulp!) to going to South Korea with Solar Deity on September 11th. Hopefully back on his preferred surface he can be the mutts nuts again…….oh….that’s what’s on the menu apparantly.
August 24, 2016 at 12:11 #1261017Hi Twisler, thanks for joining up to give us that update.
Yeah, was a wee bit disappointed with him on Saturday, though Heartbreak City softened the blow, but like you say, he’s surely better than that, and I hope he gives you a lot of success. I’ll no doubt back him again, so I hope he gives me a lot of success as well lol
Any thoughts on The Cesarewtitch for him?
