    Hi, Peeps.

I had an interesting occurrence last night on Betfair..

I had £100 on an Australian race – win @ 2.36. (I know, that raises a lot of questions in itself!)

The horse finished 2nd, failing by whatever the shortest margin is in Aussie racing.

There was a bump or two inside the last furlong…arguable as to whether it affected the result, but the "winner" did take his ground of the fav. Usually, these objections (2nd to winner) get dismissed.

However, 35 mins later the objection was upheld. Whoo-hoo for sexy boy on his sofa!

Thing is…the bet had already been settled as a loser and the funds taken. It said "lost" on my account statement.

Ii waited a bit, thinking I would probably have to call them/instant message…and then the bet said "error"….then "reversal" and then…"fix" – and I got paid out.

What happens if they have already paid the money to layers/backers and they have withdrawn the funds or lost subsequently lost it?

Does one always get paid on FPTP and amended results on horse racing.

I checked their T’s & C’s and there wasn’t much about it – it seems they retain the right to decide whether to pa or not after the weighed in (if result changes)?

    I found this: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s … clnk&gl=uk

Does anyone have the definitive answer/experience of this?

    Thanks,

    Zip

They don’t wait for the weighed-in to settle these days. I think they’re betting that what they lose from people losing money they don’t have they’ll more than make up for in churn.
