While we’re dishing out the raspberries on another thread how about a more positive list?

I’ll kick off with Newmarket, especially the July course. Lovely place to be on a summers day. The other course is pretty good as well, top class racing.

Has to be Cheltenham which will look even better when the new stands are built.

Sandown is the best course to view the action its just a pity that apart from the Tingle Creek its national hunt programme is so poor, for example the much missed Whitbread Gold Cup. Their admittance prices are also a joke

I’m with you on that one aji, seeing Slade Power winning the July Cup from Tropics last year on the July Course and Night of Thunder beating Kingman in the 2,000 Guineas on the Rowley Mile..priceless.
The best of the best pass through Newmarket on their way to greatness.

Just wish Champions Day would be returned to it’s rightful home sometime soon. The best day ever was when Frankel won the Dewhurst and Twice Over won the Champion Stakes in 2010 :D

Have you not seen the annual TRF awards? Best racecourse 2014 was one of the categories – Auteuil was the winner.

It doesn’t get lots of credit usually but the free seats in the stand at haydock give a fabulous view. York gets a vote for being very accessible by train and some great racing. Like the others, I’m a massive fan of the July course.

For viewing which is my main point of racing,
    Towcester is a wondeful view.
    Cheltenham is also wonderful.
    Really too many to mention.
