The usual question, where can live coverage of I’ll Have Another’s bid for racing immortality be picked up on Saturday night.
I ask because currenty the ATR schedule does not mention Belmont Park as one of the US tracks due to be covered on Saturday’s stateside programme and RUK only have "Racing Replay" due to be broadcast.
I sincerely hope one of of the channels will cover it but not looking good at this stage.
June 9, 2012 at 17:27 #407503Pretty sure it is on ATR. Their website states they are covering Belmont.
June 9, 2012 at 23:08 #407525Thanks KenH, yes ATR covered it. I noticed they had changed their Sky schedule to include Belmont.
Sad the Triple Crown bid failed to materialise but great to see one of my fave horses come good again, Union Rags. So often deprived of the big win, he was given a peach of a ride by Velasquez, replacing the hapless Leparoux, and patiently conserving energy for a seriously daring raid up the inner to grab victory on the line.
With his stamina now certain, it will be interesting to see him ridden handier against Bodemeister in the Travers and the Jockey Club Gold Cup, where I hope he is able to put right the terrible bad fortune that beset him at Churchill Downs. I can see these two have some epic duels through the remainder of the season, culminating in the BC Classic where you never know they may come up against Camelot or even Frankel.
June 9, 2012 at 23:25 #407528Got to hear it on Timeform radio and pretty exciting it was. Winner one of only two course winners in the field, but had to feel sorry for the runner up who just got beat on the line after leading throughout.
