This filly really gives hope to all small owners hoping to hit the jackpot for a small outlay.
Bought by Mark Brisbourne as a yearling for a minimum bid of 800G she ran 14 times as a 2yo winning 4 and finishing second a further 5 times.
Her 3yo campaign has been even more impressive with another 4 wins and two second places from 10 runs culminating in her landing a Chester handicap this afternoon off a mark of 102.
She’s now won over £100,000 in prizemoney and is the classic ‘credit to connections’.
An uplifting story for anyone who feels that racing is once again becoming the preserve of the wealthy few.
I see Belle Royale has now been raised six lbs to 108. Surely some black type beckons?
The Racing Post reports that Belle Royale has just notched up her first Grade 1 win in the US after being sold out of the Mark Brisbourne stable last year.
If only we could all spend 800 Guineas so well!
