This filly really gives hope to all small owners hoping to hit the jackpot for a small outlay.
Bought by Mark Brisbourne as a yearling for a minimum bid of 800G she ran 14 times as a 2yo winning 4 and finishing second a further 5 times.
Her 3yo campaign has been even more impressive with another 4 wins and two second places from 10 runs culminating in her landing a Chester handicap this afternoon off a mark of 102.
She’s now won over £100,000 in prizemoney and is the classic ‘credit to connections’.
An uplifting story for anyone who feels that racing is once again becoming the preserve of the wealthy few.
September 28, 2011 at 18:23 #372370I see Belle Royale has now been raised six lbs to 108. Surely some black type beckons?
May 29, 2012 at 07:53 #405883The Racing Post reports that Belle Royale has just notched up her first Grade 1 win in the US after being sold out of the Mark Brisbourne stable last year.
If only we could all spend 800 Guineas so well!
