This is nonsense
The boundary commission sets constituencies and it is entirely without gov influence. That’s a fact
This obsession with privatising the nhs because the gov even dares to talk to any private contractor is absurd. If a business talks to a supplier then it doesn’t mean the supplier is taking ownership of the business ffs
December 22, 2021 at 11:03 #1573860Why wknt people be able to vote with I’d?
You mean not vote five times???
And stating that mps of any side are delighted by covid is frankly ridiculous
December 22, 2021 at 12:20 #1573869Sexism? F*** me, Clive’s gone woke.
December 22, 2021 at 12:21 #1573871Austria are considering plans to fine anyone over the age of 14 £3,071 ( 3,600 euros ) for refusing to be vaccinated, while Singapore already make those not vaccinated by choice pay their own Covid medical bill whether in or out of hospital.
Boris hasn’t resorted to these measures yet, but patience is wearing thin with some countries against those unwilling to be vaccinated. In one report by King’s College Hospital between 80 to 90 per cent of patents in critical care beds were unvaccinated. They don not merely pose a danger to themselves. As Omicron gathers pace, the need the need for hospitisation will increase-even for the triple jabbed because vaccines complete protection.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.December 22, 2021 at 12:32 #1573874No richard
Always been baffled by misogyny (theres good reasoning I wont bore you with)
December 22, 2021 at 12:34 #1573875The boundary commission is independent of government but ‘must follow the rules of redistribution set out in legislation and decided by parliament’.
December 22, 2021 at 13:45 #1573883Good posts on this page Clive.

tbh Bone, Redwood and Cash are not my idea of good politics, but to say they’re “in it for themselves” is just plain wrong. People have different opinions and although don’t agree with their opinion can see why they might think/vote that way.

Subconsciously wanting to find the Tories guilty and hang them because of your own Labour prejudices instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt… And because of your own sexism.

The unvaccinated are being treated like scapegoats, which is not fair. The data does not support it:
Vaccination has to be a freely made choice. It is against the Nuremberg Code to force someone to undergo a medical procedure without their consent. As I believe the Austrian and German governments will find when legal cases are inevitably taken against them. In my view, they know it but are trying to frighten people into getting vaccinated.
I very much doubt the British government could get mandatory vaccination through Parliament. Firstly, I believe even more Conservative MPs would join last week’s rebels. And secondly, I think there is a very good chance the Labour Party would vote against as well, if only to humiliate Johnson.
Mandatory vaccination is a line many people do not want to be crossed and I doubt Starmer would suffer any negative consequences if he ordered his party to vote against. Also, it is generally accepted that people from poorer backgrounds and from ethnic minorities form a disproportionate amount of the unvaccinated.
Both these groups are more likely to vote Labour. I doubt Starmer would want to risk antagonising them. He is not in a position where he can afford to lose any more seats.
December 22, 2021 at 14:20 #1573891Name of the news magazine you’re getting the information from says it all really CAS.
“The Daily Sceptic”.
They see you coming mate.
Value Is EverythingDecember 22, 2021 at 14:23 #1573892Labour prejudices? Never voted for them in my life. Sexism? No. If that was a picture of a female Labour PM and her husband I’d say nothing different but we have a male Tory PM. Not much I can do about that.
I think we’re done here.
December 22, 2021 at 14:25 #1573893Starmer, when it comes to covid, does whatever is best for the country. He has made it clear that he is not playing politics when it comes to peoples health. I very much doubt if he would vote for mandatory vaccinations although the grey area is NHS staff. Given that some have to have hepatitis vaccines it seems wrong that people should be in contact with vulnerable people if not fully protected. However, the grey area with that is that vaccination does not prevent transmission. Had the vaccines done that we would be in a totally different position now. In fact we wouldn’t have a pandemic. What a mess it all is. You only have to read the differing opinions on here to see how confusing it all is. Apart from anti mask/ anti maskers who are convinced their approach is 100% right that is!
December 22, 2021 at 14:32 #1573896tbh I would be loathed to bring in compulsory vaccinations CAS, only at a very very last resort.
Thankfully it seems enough people in the UK are having their jabs for compulsory vaccinations therefore never need to be voted on in our Parliament let alone pass.
However, that may change if people believe your propaganda about the unvaccinated. So if it comes it will be people like you’s fault.
Value Is EverythingDecember 22, 2021 at 14:38 #1573899Thanks ginger
The left always overplay their hands
Moe this is why we are having a boundary commission
The average size of Labour constituencies is 68,487 whereas the average size of Conservative constituencies is 72,418
December 22, 2021 at 14:47 #1573904Yep, a Labour vote currently worth more than a Tory vote.
…And a Scottish vote worth more than an English vote.
Value Is EverythingDecember 22, 2021 at 14:51 #1573908Ginger, the links I provided cite the government’s own data.
The Daily Sceptic is not opposed to vaccination. In fact, it rather annoyed a lot of its subscribers earlier this year by taking a very pro-vaccine stance.
I think you misunderstood the meaning of the word “sceptic”. Scepticism is a good thing. It involves questioning, not just accepting what you are told. In fact, it is the basis of science, where theories are tested and then rigorously tested again.
We need a lot more scepticism, not less. Our whole media could do with being more sceptical. It does not mean not believing anything or accepting crazy theories. It means having an open mind and asking questions. Why is that a bad thing?
