That hatred that has been mentioned was directed against the opposition ( not that that excuses such behaviour). But to subject your own side’s players to such abuse as happened with Englans last week is not on.

Aranalde. Frank Lampard ? Mmm – curious. Surely McClaren wasn’t looking for an excuse to drop him was he ? Surely he’s got the balls to tell him he’s been dropped. Or is there a small, elite bunch of players within the England squad who must always be picked and never substituted (unless injured or facing a red card) ?   Terry, Ferdinand, Lampard, Gerrard and Rooney – the untouchables ?   Nah – Stevie McClaren’s got more balls than that hasn’t he ?
