I don’t mean to have a go at him, but as anybody else noted recently how he is not riding as well as in the past.
I know he is still riding winners I hear you say but then again riding for Henderson so he should but it is just some of his more recent rides that stand out.
Beat That today at Sandown should really have won, poor jump at the last surely cost it the race, jockey or horse? IMHO the jockey.
The ride he gave Whisper at Cheltenham recently again IMHO a poor ride.
There have been others, Tetlami last week at Newbury, never put in the race, maybe it was the horse and time may tell it was.
Grandouet at Sandown on its debut.
    Oscar Whisky at Cheltenham
I don’t know but IMHO there is just something about him at the minute that I don’t like.
I really fancy Whisper tomorrow and to be honest I wish someone else was on it.
    We will see tomorrow.

Be surprised if he rides At Fishers Cross again, think connections will be extra keen that AP is available when he runs in future.

And the horse has never made a mistake with AP in the saddle?

You can virtually guarantee either a horse will pull too hard and/or make a blunder virtually everytime AP rides.

In a straight choice I would take Geraghty any day of the week. Yesterday, he got beat a couple of times by Richard Johnson who unlike AP is actually riding as well as he has ever done.

AP is riding as well as ever, probably better. He’s using his experience to very good effect. Barry Geraghty had no affinity with At Fishers Cross, maybe the horse needs someone who knows him well but don’t think they would go for BG again if AP was unavailable.

Didnt they call him "Barry Gravity" for a while a couple years back when he had a few unshippings??

In fairness, may there is an issue with affinity for the horse, but AtFishers returned to a lot of his old habits last week and I dont think you can blame the jockey for that. I wouldnt be put off backing Whisper because of him and I thin some of what you have observed is maybe down to Henderson just easing some of his horses into the season.

Maybe SHL but I don’t think he is riding great at the minute.

Time will tell, but I don’t think he covered himself in glory again today with his rides on River Maigue, Grandouet and Court By Surprise.

Don’t see what Barry did wrong. If concentrating on Grandouet may be you missed Hinterland going equally as well. Very good ride by Jacob, pushed a couple of lengths clear two out where Barry made a slight mistake/slower jump – giving Hinterland a margin to play with before (as ever) Hinterland idled/finished weakly, allowing Grandouet to finish well, appearing unlucky.
Grandouet is a hold up horse and always going to be vulnerable if not jumping at best in the home straight against a similar type. I had a saver bet on the Henderson horse but would not blame Barry for losing.

On the other hand, in the first race (had no bet in race) Jacob imo believed he was going to win without going for everything. Not having time to respond when Barry on Vaniteaux found more than expected for a strong ride, Geraghty winning a race he had no business to. In a later interview Jacob seemingly admitted to making a riding error.

Also had a main bet on Court By Suprise. Think he was a little unlucky in the run of the race. Winner came from second last to first in a race that appeared overly strongly run. But what was Barry supposed to do two out against doubtful stayer There’s No Panic? At the time, I thought he did the right thing by pressing on. However, his mount pricked ears and idled badly in front before rallying late on. May be done better holding on to Court By Suprise, but that’s hindsight. If I see Emma in Charlton Tesco’s I’ll tell her to put a hood on him next time. (the horse I mean).

I think on Geraghty would be good as well lol.
I know what you are saying but I don’t know what it is but he just does not seem to get horses jumping for him at the minute
Court by Surprise made a couple of bad error and at one point he lost an iron

Good, but not that good FLD. Helped by Champion Court saddle slipping and it’s just what Riverside Theatre does these days, taking the p1$$. Wonder whether gets claustrophobic on the inner surrounded by horses? May do better taken to the outer for a clear view of fences?

I like BG. He seems to me to make few mistakes and has a way of letting some chancy jumpers get from one side to the other.

I do believe he should rethink, at times, his general strategy of holding horses up. Grandouet would be well worth a try from the front. He’s led from two out before and never shown signs of stopping, yet in his last two races, BG has spent more than half the race trying to settle him. How much equine energy is that burning?

As for AF Cross, if ever I saw a horse hating it, he did. From the first jump he was never travelling as a horse of his class should. I suspect it was the ground. It will be interesting to see if the experience has left a mark on his outlook.

I disagree, he gave Une Artiste a fabulous ride today, any jockey that can see a stride 6 out into an open ditch is truly gifted. However, any starter who let Keltus run out the front with the favourite starting some 20 odd lengths behind the others needs firing!
