A days racing i really enjoy watching

Initially i was disappointed when i seen sayar hadnt been declared for the novice hurdle, but with the race not being the most informative to the supreme recently and im assuming (unless someone else can confirm otherwise) they pulled sayar because the ground which would make me think they want to mind him a little, im sure annamix’s injury is another possible reason why sayar is out

That being said i liked makitorix maiden win, bolted up on ground that wont be far away from what it was on sunday, red jack much the same in regards to liking the ground, although the beating he gave stooshie and co is hardly solid form ill be avoiding those 2 for this

mengli khan looks promising(if he wins this who knows how much theyll shorten him from 12/s for the supreme) at 9/4 that seems a fair price, another im fond of is early doors at a bit of a price (12/1) i think that his performance against meri devie and co is alot stronger than a few of the market principles and ill be taking some
Of that, le richebourg i dont think will like the ground as much as some of these and morgan sets a good benchmark at 33/1 although i wont be backing it, is a fair price

    Mengli khan 9/4
    Early doors 12/1 e/w

The other races on the card are of great qaulity and have backed a few

Espoir dallen and mitchouka are very short in the betting and one of them the likely winner, too short to be taking antepost but i fancy espoir dallen to nick it, if still around 11/10 on the day ill probably take it

Hattons grace ill take the 7/4apples jade, cracking bet, she usually comes on for the run, jers girl not exactly franked the form but winning FTO is a good result for AJ

In the handicap ill be backing a horse i liked at the beginning of last season, not so much the end, but hes getting conditions here Chateau conti 14/1 And the other ive backed Yaha fizz 25/1 e/w

In the drinmore ill be taking death duty on at 4/7 ill be laying him and backing Rathvinden 3/1 and dinaria des obeaux 10/1 e/w

Great days racing! Hopefully they all make the final decs

Apples Jade still in the Fighting Fifth although I doubt she’ll go for it and will most likely appear here. Wont be a bad race; Mullins has 3 that could make their season debut; Nichols Canyon, Cilaos Emery and Augusta Kate. Ya never know what you’re getting with Nichols Canyon. Will it be the horse that hags with UKWIMH or the horse that got owned by Petit Mouchoir last year? Excelled at 3 miles, was poor over 2 miles, how will he run over 2 and 1/2 miles on soft? This is an interesting one.

Yeah, decent days racing this, and looking forward to some very nice types. Not massive bets I wouldn’t imagine, but I’ll have a few on.

I’ve bet Le Richebourg for The Supreme at 33’s, and though I’m wary of betting those than run through the summer, for prizes at Cheltenham, I’m hoping that he can run well in The Royal Bond.

In The Hattons Grace, I’m tempted by Supasundae to win at 8’s, but I’ll definitely chance Mick Jazz each way at 25’s.

In The Handicap, no way am I deserting Top Othe Ra, who got me a nice return last week, and I do like this horse a lot, while West Coast Time is another nice type. Ben Dundee should progress this season as well.

Rathvinden is one of my Novice Chasers to keep an eye on this season, and he should acquit himself well.

The Handicap Chase is a cracker, and assuming Presenting Percy doesn’t go, then Thunder and Roses, Fine Theatre, and Woods Well appeal most just now.

Love these Irish races on the weekend, a lot more interesting than the English races at the moment.

With Ham on Espoir Dallen, hoping he is very good indeed. Also with VTC on Mick Jazz, that horse is going to win a good race at some point. Which one or how many i wish i knew.

    Good old racing indeed.

In the Royal Bond, i have been very impressed Mengli Khan; he has looked very decent indeed i think and whilst he hasn’t quite beat very good horses yet…he has won very takingly.
The mullins horse is proper guess-work. Joey’s Le Richebourg could be anything too, the form isn’t working out badly and he’d be my saver. He would need to prove himself on the ground, but i am not sure i’d be as worried about him as some summer novice hurdlers.
Red Jack for me, is a novice worth taking on this season…i don’t really like him much, hes won nicely in bumpers, but he beat Debuchet getting weight, and then won ok with Dinons (a very taking debutant) finishing well close behind him. I wasn’t all that taken by him on his maiden win over hurdles and i think he might need further.

Hatton’s Grace, i really think Nichols Canyon is the one… whilst you could say with a run you’d have thought AJ would be favourite…i personally don’t think her reappearance this year beating Jer’s Girl is very good form. Last year they had excuses for her starting slow (new yard)…but i think this year she will have been fitter as they know her better.Go through her form and yes shes a great mare, but for me NC form is better. He is very good fresh AJ won’t have it so easy over the trip and on heavy against a gutsy stayer in NC.

Chateau Conti was very impressive beating the Storyteller and David’s charm will be a danger…he could do with a bit further but at least theres an uphill finish at Fairyhouse to help his stamina come into play.

    That’s it for now :bye:

She was confirmed yesterday to be staying at home, i waited until he confirmed so before taking the 7/4 just incase (obviously technically they could still go fighting fifth, hes said she definitely stays at home so good enough for me)

Its not AJs time of year but if she improves from her first run she will be tough to beat for NC or anyone else in the race for that matter, i can see her being fav on the day,if cilaos emery and NC can give her 7lbs FTO and win, ill be pretty surprised

I’ve been really impressed by Red Jack and have him at 20s for the Supreme.

Think he will win here on his way to favouritism for that race.

    A cracking day of racing.

Took 14/1 about Bleu Et Rouge for the big handicap hurdle on Sunday. I can only think the price is so big because he is an uncertain participant but I’ve been led to believe he will run. Chasing didn’t work out for him last season but he had bags of ability and if he is declared would expect he’ll go off closer to 4/1 than 14’s.

I’ve joined you THM- reckon Bleu et Rouge can’t jump a fence for toffee and not surprised to see him back over hurdles as plenty of talent there.

Some good antepost results which has allowed me to offload

Mengli khan into 6/4 form 9/4
Dinaria des obeaux into 7/2 from 10/1 (can see her shortening right down to about 11/4)
Apples jade into 11/8 from 7/4 (she should continue to shorten aswell youd think now)

Drifting like a barge. Opened 7/4 some places and now out to 6/1.

Il have to leave it alone after that

I thought there were a few good opportunities to me made today so decided to have a play in a few of these races. I have no idea what to make of the first so left it alone but I felt 4/1 about Makitorix was more than fair. I was impressed with him on debut, is Willie’s sole representative and will probably handle conditions better than a few of these. In the Hatton’s Grace I really do feel Apple’s Jade should be odds on to see of Nichols Canyon on seasonal debut. She’s in receipt of half a stone, she’s race fit and I think this is her ideal trip so 11/8 was good enough for me. Like with the Royal Bond, I thought Rathvinden in the Drimore was worth a bet at 4/1 to down Death Duty. He’s experienced, goes on the ground and represents powerful connections.

As for the handicaps, I thought the 3.10 was a difficult one with not a whole lot of value on offer but Paddy Power are paying 4 places and I thought Undressed was worth an e/w bet with them at 28/1. He ran well to finish 3rd over this trip on bad ground last time out and started as short as 5/1 for this last year. There’s signs of a return to form and has a decent chance of finishing in the frame.

I took more of an opinion in the hurdle with 5 places on offer. Tigris River looked overpriced at 28/1 considering he looked very promising before not enjoying himself in the Greatwood which turned attritional. I couldn’t help but be impressed with Highland Fling last time out and is races off a low weight. The win bet went on Davids Charm who’s form looks very solid, he’s improving, goes on anything and his stamina could well come into play late on looking at a fair early pace.

For sure, there’s going to be a few Cheltenham Festival market shake-ups after today so it’s an afternoon to pay attention to.

I’m a fan of RED JACK too MOM. I put him in my Ten To Follow and I should have taken
the 25s at that time for the Supreme, but I’ve taken the 20s today before he runs. It’s true that
Geraghty has gone for LE Richenbourg, but he sat on him last time out when he won easily, he hasn’t
sat on (or raced on) either of the other 2 McManus horses that line up here. Le Richenbourg has had
the 5 runs and although he looks decent, there is maybe more to come from RED JACK after only 3
runs. Albeit it was very early days, they have run together in a NHF race at Naas, where RED JACK
came out the better of the 2, winning with 8L back to LR. I think he’s worth taking a chance with
    today at 8/1.

Agree with BigG re Red Jack. Jockey bookings have me scratching my head and the drift would worry you but he’s the pick if these on bumper form and he didn’t do much wrong winning his maiden hurdle. Will likely prive better over further but has to be backed at the prices today imo.
