Hello,
I am of elderly years, but this horse must be the most over hyped horse of all time..the connections have made some good money out of the places, don’t get me wrong, but every time I have picked up a racing paper over this flat season , BANKABLE has always been on the premises…Is the horse related to Victoria Beckham??

regards,
doyley

November 1, 2008 at 21:17 #187456Hello,
Just to annoy an anal retentive guy called David, why else, I don’t have the time as you obviously have (a proud 5k post man) to trawl every post, so giv eme a break..just leave the odd poster alone you obsessive..

November 1, 2008 at 22:47 #187474I’ve had many stupid bets in my years but was never so stupid as to back Bankable at such a daft price for the Royal Hunt Cup. Every time I see his name I smile inwardly, knowing I haven’t quite succumbed to senility. I hope the horse goes on for many seasons to come.

And yet if the race was run again with the same weights, he would be even shorter. Ah, the irony!

November 2, 2008 at 16:53 #187579I gave up on Bankable a long time ago. Once bitten, twice shy and all that. I noted that Dave Nevison was ready to give him "one last chance" yesterday, before yet again failing miserably. I am surprised that a man of his experience would have let his heart rule his head.
Unbankable more like.

You obviously don’t know Dave then! He is a long way removed from the stereotypical professional punter, and bets a lot more from the gut than from mathematical principle.
November 2, 2008 at 17:21 #187588The Bedford brigade had pencilled in Group 1 contests later this season for him once the handicapper shunted him to Pattern class.
I think the Queen Elizabeth II was the eventual season-ending target.
Love the irony in his name though. Just brilliant.
November 2, 2008 at 17:40 #187597A set of hurdles might focus him.
November 2, 2008 at 19:22 #187606I just think he’sonce paced and gets tapped for toe at 1m. He’s out of a Sadler’s Wells mare so maybe a step back up in trip is in order.
