Surprised the firms have not opened a book on how many times Dettori is going to look around. ;-)

Fav is drawn on the wrong side of the track watching the other races

Pleased to get one placed at a fancy price and it was way over expected odds. Magical Morning’s form tends to be ‘knit one, pearl one’ which does help the odds.

I think the handicapper was as doubtful as I was about Aldaary and Symbolize’s previous effort here, but that form proved very strong. From that October 2nd race FRESH was third and hasn’t appeared yet, so worth keeping out an eye for, but also FUNDAMENTAL who was by far the best of the high drawn horses on that occasion.

Huge performance from the winner here by the way and one I hold my hands up I got completely wrong after his last run where incidentally the 2nd has gone and finished 2nd here too – 0.07 seconds slower than Baaed carrying 5lbs more, both are 3 year olds. QEII looked steadily run and you’d expect a breakneck gallop in a Balmoral but the finishing speed %’s according to ATR’s track sectionals have Baaed at 106.58% and 104.91% for Aldaary so even if the Balmoral was the stronger run of the two Aldaary was still flying in the closing stages marking him out as a serious horse himself – I would add a caveat that he is much better with some cut in the ground on what he’s shown this year. He’s won this Balmoral off effectively 109 which is some doing and he could well be contesting G1 races himself next year.
