About how many horses would they have in training ?
August 2, 2008 at 23:36 #175873I think its about 150.
August 2, 2008 at 23:38 #175874I could be well off the mark with 150 but I am sure I read that somewhere in the last week. When Vincent was the boss it was always a fairly select team-much smaller numbers.

August 3, 2008 at 12:53 #175921Was just listening to the killers album the other day and listened to the tune that bbc always play for johnny murtagh.

When you listen to the first couple of lines of the song, you can see why they keep it to the instrumental.

Quite ironic, when you bear in mind how murtgh got the job.
August 4, 2008 at 00:30 #175988Vincent did not have the power of Coolmore behind him when training for Robert Sangster. They bought yearlings to race. They did not breed them yet.
August 4, 2008 at 06:51 #175991Take the official figure and add 50.
August 4, 2008 at 09:23 #175999andyod…Vincent was certainly backed by what is currently known as Coolmore, and a number of other wealthy industrialists in addition. Charles Engelhard owned Nijinsky for example.
Try getting a copy of the book, "Horsetrader: Robert Sangster and the Rise and Fall of the Sport of Kings"…or O’Brien’s recently published (auto)biography (written by his wife).
