Sorry to have missed you – see ya in 2041
July 3, 2021 at 22:55 #1549053Emma good to see you back but that is some time away – please tell us about your intervening years and your current interests, and do you perchance remember any of the old names ?
July 4, 2021 at 09:30 #1549072Lol! I can’t remember everyone’s names! It’s a time before smartphones, when internet was dial up and I used to help with the Saturday comps. Hardy ustace’s owner was here and someone associated with Brave Inca.
July 4, 2021 at 10:09 #1549079Hardy Eustace won his first bumper on the 2nd of April 2002 at Fairyhouse ( the first place where fairies were spotted living together in a small community ). He won at 10/1 and he had been 5th first time out 17 days earlier at the same S.P.
I was banned from this forum and think I returned around that time but your name does not ring a big bell in my large head. I would never ask a lady her age but suggest you are in your early to mid forties. I only have a slight feeling you are this age and I would have to ‘sit” for some time to get an accurate assessment. Do you remember Daylight ? because he ran this forum but his wife Debs was quite a strong influencer behind the scenes.
You have not said a lot about yourself personally and apparently there is a move away from anonymity and people are frank about where they live, their current health, and even the state of their bank account.
I am very grateful for your return as the prodigal daughter, as this was once a great family of names that lived together in space rather like the fairies in a strange way. So many are now wisps and your return means it is perfectly possible to materialise from a bygone age.
You seem quite confident and at one with yourself. I get a lot of energy from your opening words and subsequent post. I think you are in a good place in your life.
July 4, 2021 at 10:33 #1549084I think I first joined in around 2004 – it was definitely TRF by then.

I joined in February, 2001- when the late Daylight was the owner of TRF.
July 4, 2021 at 10:58 #1549092Was TRF once called Neigh? Thought that was another, now defunct, forum that Jeremy Grayson (TRF’s Graysonscolumn) was involved with
July 4, 2021 at 10:59 #1549093I met Daylight at a TRF get together at Towcester races circa 2004.
Nice chap – he must have been to (just about!) tolerate me!
No one ever said anything about TRF ever being called anything else – I am in the Drone questioning camp on this one.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"July 4, 2021 at 11:05 #1549095I thought it come into existence because of the closure of the Channel 4 racing forum.
July 4, 2021 at 11:08 #1549096Yes, now you mention it, I seem to recall Daylight saying something similar to that to me at Towcester when I asked about TRF’s origins.

July 4, 2021 at 11:35 #1549102Oh dear all you pretendy detectives have spoiled the fun. I knew all this from the outset but just wanted to prise Emma open like a ripe plum and see her juices flowing with information. It doesn’t matter where she came from she has dropped in to fly infested boondock and wants to feel at home. She is a settler. She is a happy person and a good fit with all the long chins on here.
July 4, 2021 at 11:51 #1549107Thanks for the welcome… I think 😆
I stopped posting on neigh before it shut down and thought this was its replacement but must be wrong. Either way my 20 year commitment to all things equine remains, and I look forward to contributing.

I think the other place (TH) also started up for the same reason. Some on here are members of both 20 years on.
Don’t worry about gamble, Emma, he’s a little odd but quite harmless
