You tell him Steve. Fair play to Chapman for doing serious research and always being clued up about his dogs and horse racing. We need more people with that kind of enthusiasm for the game.
Great thread also Espmadrid, highlighting some extremely shoddy work from ATR. I hope someone with influence over their production team gets to see this.

No review from Limerick (27th).

Halfway through the review of Punchestown review, ATR cut to a long distance shot of Chelmsford City before cutting back about 5 minutes later.
Lost the end of the Conyngham Cup and all bar the closing stages of the important Grade 2 Moscow Flyer.

It’s sad how the channel has deteriorated since the move to MK. Certainly no awards recently that I’m aware of, no surprise there.
In winters past we used to get a catch up review at around 4.30, now it’s just a repeat of the 11.30 programme.
Let’s hope the 11.30 Review slot returns when the clocks change in the spring.

January 24, 2015 at 11:49 #502691Lets’ imagine the discussion in the pre-production meeting at ATR/SIS, assuming they have such things………
After the hysterical laughter has subsided…..
Oh dear, you’ve got a lot to learn lad! Common sense is banned here, don’t make silly suggestions like that again. Now run along and make the tea.

Brilliant stuff espmadrid- common sense will never happen at ATR, since they take such pride in the execrable All Weather championships they might as well give up on showing any jumps racing

3.45 Taunton – No commentary.

Surprisingly I have to admit some common sense was applied today. The two NH meetings had the 41 min slots and the two AW meetings were squeezed into the 26 min slot at 11.30.
Maybe there is intelligent life on planet ATR after all!

Tuesday 3rd March
4.50 Southwell – Final furlong of commentary replaced by Thommo messing up his Racing News headlines voiceover.

Monday 8th March
On Sunday, as they had back to back reviews from Wolverhampton on Saturday, naively thought Gowran Park had been held over until Monday. Only Naas to show on the Monday review, so a complete slot available.
Not so, although a review slot was scheduled at 10.15, we had several repeated Cheltenham “features”. Brilliant

March 18, 2015 at 21:51 #846412OK – so yesterday (17th March) we have two jump cards (Down Royal & Wexford) and one flat card (Southwell).
So ATR racing review consists of….
9.15 to 10.00 – Southwell (twice) plus some short feature
10.15 to 11.00 – Wexford
11.30 to 12.00 = Southwell (again) and a repeated short feature. Here at ATR we love the brown stuff!

They only have Chelmsford to show tomorrow, so I would imagine they will show Down Royal tomorrow at 10.15.
That would be the logical conclusion, therefore it must surely happen, won’t it???
As we all know ATR/SIS cannot be relied on to provide a complete review anymore, they just don’t care. Meetings are regularly omitted and never shown, even if there are subsequent opportunities to do so.

Remember last years’ Punchestown Festival week when they totally ignored 17 meetings on the review so they could show endless chat and repeats of Punchestown? Do you think anything will change this year?

March 24, 2015 at 20:06 #866934Sunday 22nd March
Both Stratford and Gowran Park squeezed into the 10.15 slot when they could have been shown in full if one had been held over until Monday.
Monday 23rd March
Downpatrick shown twice.

Monday 6th April
Sedgefield – Not shown
-
Tuesday 7th April
Fakenham – Not shown
With only Lingfield to show on Thursday morning, will ATR do the decent thing and show Sedgefield (5th) or Fakenham (6th)?
I predict we will get two back to back Lingfield reviews and then either another showing of Fairyhouse or Dubai. Let’s hope I’m proven wrong, but I doubt it.

April 9, 2015 at 10:42 #877147Wow, I’m stunned. More than happy to be wrong in my pessimistic prediction.
Not presuming anyone at ATR actually reads this anorak type thread, maybe they had this scheduled all along. In any case, thank you and well done ATR.

April 9, 2015 at 10:51 #877149Don’t get carried away espmadrid i’m sure come the end of the month they will return to their endless repeats of Punchestown.
By the way RUK made a mistake with their racing review yesterday as they showed Nottingham while beginning their review of Catterick.
