And Big Mac is absolutely right IMO. It is absolutely absurd that you can deliberately break a rule while others play to them and be allowed to keep a race. If that doesn’t encourage a jockey to break the rules I don’t know what does. It’s senseless.

If you are going to have rules regarding the whip – disqualify horse and jockey that break the rules and as Big Mac says – jockeys won’t do it because there is nothing to gain from it.

    It isn’t rocket science.

I’m finding Big Mac’s ramblings very tiresome lately- he was banging on about a big draw bias there a while ago- total nonsense.

    Ego wars ?

Chapman likes to portray himself as the cheeky chappy of racing presenters. I think McCririck realises that Chapman has slightly stolen his mantle in that respect – and is probably feeling a bit put out by the younger man.

I recall how they went head to head over the Kauto Star / Denman Gold Cup debate.

Big Mac was the more forceful of the two in getting his point across – whereas Chapman, at the time, seemed somewhat subdued and less loquacious, in contrast to McCririck’s bombastic onslaught.

However, in the end, Chapman was proved right.

Chapman seems to think a draw bias and a pace bias are the same thing, they are not.

There might be a draw bias at Ascot, but it is too soon to be cerain.

It might be just where the best pace is.

However, if the jockeys believe there is and all bunch to the stand rail there will be a draw bias. Those drawn high will have to travel further.
