Hexham has become the new Southwell. No other British NH track as lethal as this track if you look at the past two years. It had 6-7 straight years with virtually no fatality and used to be very horse friendly.
RIP Ash Hill. I don’t follow fatality rates at individual tracks closely RubyLight, but the change you have described sounds concerning. Do you have any thoughts on why this has happened?
Was his injury sustained at the first fence or when he was running loose? He unseated his rider at the fence at the start of the back straight but the screens were up at the turn out of the back straight for home.
