Puddles on course and another 4 hours of torrential rain.

Smart money says racing today is not happening.

Can anybody see any possibility of racing taking place?

I feel that any form study will be a complete waste of time.

What would the plan be for the running of today’s races if it’s abandoned today?

Seems unlikely to go ahead, no idea what they can do about rescheduling the races though.
Absolutely torrential rain currently and set to last all day.
May wipe out tomorrow’s card too.

I would say there is zero chance that the races on the round course will happen. Straight drains a lot faster so slightly more chance that the first race may take place but still not much of a chance.

I can’t seem to find any news of an inspection though which surprises me.

What odds abandoned after the first ?

However many races that need to be ran for a ticket refund to no longer be available. It’s not safe but money has spoken.

Only in this country could we have a festival run on concrete at the start of the week and then a swamp at the end! The unpredictable weather we get was a big factor in me giving up on antepost betting years ago.

“In the event of racing being abandoned, refunds on entrance money and car parking will be made in the following circumstances: a) Abandonment before the running of the first race; a full refund will be given. b) Abandonment before the third or feature race, whichever is later – a 50% refund will be given.“

First race guarantees them a payday (reduced).

Smart money says racing abandoned following the commonwealth cup. Money talks and as this was part of a government convid scheme there was apparently no chance it could be rescheduled to a future date bar making Saturday a two days in one day card.

Times for the two sprints suggest it’s not an awful lot worse than Soft. Probably a bit worse on the Round course but they are certainly getting through it and there seemd no horses out on their feet at the end in any race.
