I’ve had a look at this race just now, and I thought that 7-2 was a fair price for Pic Dorhy.

He’s in really good form this year, and I thought that he was worth a bet just now.

Fakir doudairies was possibly a lucky winner last run, and there are maybe question marks around Shishkin so I’ve decided to have a bet a week ahead

    5.2 @ Betfair Exchange.

Certainly won well at Kempton Park.

It’s also Pic D’Ohry here at 7-2 for me. I think that he’s a different horse this season

I’m going to this and it’s Pic D’orhy for me as well. I’ve had him in a double with Hermes Allen for the Ballymore and I’ll have another go at him on the day on the rails.

He won by barely coming out of a canter last time and whilst the opposition is much tougher there’s huge questions against them. Fakir had a hard race less than a month ago and was very fortunate but did find plenty for pressure. Shiskin you simply couldn’t back with someone else money and Hitman is likely to run this weekend so won’t go.

“Fakir had a hard race less than a month ago ”

He had to go all out to beat Two for Gold by not much in the Ascot Chase last year after running in the Thurles race as well, so it is a concern.

7-2 for Pic D’Ohry looks like Christmas come early against this lot, and I’m also onboard with Jeff, TC and WOTR

If having a sensible bet here, I’d go with Pic D’Ohry, but hard to split him and Fakir D’Oudairies

I’ve looked elsewhere though, and taken a chance on Aye Right. Below those at the head of the market, but at his best, not miles away. Mediocre season so far, but happy enough with the drop in trip, happy to see Ryan Mania booked, and happy that he might just be the wrong price.

Has two other possible engagements this weekend, but if I ignore his abysmal Newcastle run, I can at least see me getting a fair vein for my money.

Are any of the top 3 not going to Cheltenham?

I’d say of the 3, Pic D’Orhy will be really having this as his GC. Nicholls would take winning this and even swerving Chelt for Aintree. For all, him winning here will probably make them chance the Ryanair given they’d be beating the fav.

Shiskin probably prefers good to soft but both Pic D’orhy and Fakir seem content on good ground.

I think all 3 will line up.

Quote from Fakir’s connections earlier in the week for the race…

Ascot is half an hour up the M3 from me and they are expecting 2mm rain in the next 24 hours.

Glorious sunny weather here in Hampshire at the moment.

Pic D’Orhy wins this – Shishkin isn’t the horse he was and the other one has a silly name has an even sillier name than my selection.

It’s a well-known fact that horses with silly names never win the same race two years running.

Nobody, Stickels will be firehosing the place to make sure Shishkin and Fakir turn up.

Al Boum Photo, Flooring Porter, Conflated, Sizing Europe, Beef or Salmon…the list of good horses with rubbish names is endless.

That greenasgrass is too clever by half!

Alright, Fakir D’Ouderwotsits is a big danger to my bet!

The question is do you play Shiskin for the Ryanair before he runs here ?

Wouldn’t surprise me if Shishkin never won another race in his life and will be retiring sooner rather than later.

    Something’s not right there.
