Draw played a big part in that result.
Value Is EverythingOctober 18, 2025 at 14:28 #1742334You can almost expect rogue result like this in the hock deep ground that this meeting usually produces but to have this happen on good fast ground is much more unexpected – shout out to Quinault (66-1) who blitzed it from the front from the start on the stands side and still kept on for 3rd.
Only two single digit priced horses got in the first 8 home, which tells you all you really need to know about the state of the sprint division over here.
October 18, 2025 at 14:59 #1742347So the Champion Sprint was won by, err

The more I know the less I understand.
October 18, 2025 at 15:08 #1742354To be fair, LD. All of those at the front of the market (bar the fav and Big Mojo) had doubts about being fully effective on a firmish surface. So it is not that surprising they disappointed.
That said… On the straight course I suspect the third of the track closest to the stand rail is faster than the far side two thirds.
Value Is EverythingOctober 18, 2025 at 16:31 #1742422A result that explains why I do not like sprints when there are no outstanding horses. All a case of Buggins Turn.
October 19, 2025 at 11:30 #1742489If Lazzat had won geldings would have swept the whole card bar the one race they of course couldn’t race in , very unusual in Europe on a big day on the flat .

I quite like that. Makes a change from the post race interview turbo-advertising breeding machines and just concentrates on the sport.
October 19, 2025 at 19:23 #1742534Agree Greenasgrass , Ka Ying Rising was massive in Everest , first question to Hayes after , are you coming back next year , answer yes of course . All about the racing . All these winners at Ascot will be back too given injury free run .
