Nothing against the horse himself but when his owner is free to participate in the sport, the sport condones and legitimises the owner and, by extension, his actions.
Each and every unwitting horse owned by Mr Mo and working in the UK is an explicit political tool. As such, this is very much a horse racing matter which concerns the horses themselves.
As a passionate follower and stakeholder of the sport, I find this situation disagreeable. As such, I am expressing this opinion on a horse racing forum. In particular, a horse racing forum which has recently stifled another passionate supporter of horse racing expressing similar sentiments.
October 21, 2019 at 10:48 #1472208This thread appears to have been moved by mistake.
Lounge is for non-racing and meta topics. The 6:30 at Kempton is not a Big Race nor is it at Cheltenham. I wasn’t suggesting people lay Raaeb so it wouldn’t belong in Tipping and Research. It’s unrelated to any Competition, General Sport or Video. The race has yet to be contested so Archive Topics wouldn’t be appropriate either. Perhaps one could say that this forum’s sense of dignity and principal has died and we can put it in Memorials but that’s pretty convoluted.
Seeing as the thread is about a horse competing in a race, how about the Horse Racing board? Unless one is trying to deny reality or protect the feelings of those too afraid to face the reality of this sport (and how that reflects on themselves), I think that this thread belongs where it was originally posted.
October 21, 2019 at 11:38 #1472216I hope Princess Haya gets custody of the children and can prevent them from being dragged off and forced into arranged marriages. She is a tough enough cookie- she had a lot of advantages but still, you can’t get good enough to qualify for the Olympic showjumping just by flinging money at it. Good luck to her and her lawyer Baroness Shackleton.
Sheikh Mo looks like zero craic (and his divorce poem was hilariously overblown rubbish).
October 21, 2019 at 12:37 #1472220It’s been moved because it is a political post rather than a racing one. Related to racing, yes, but primarily a statement relating to the owner not the horse.
