If young Hughes or Manning were riding Archipenko the uproar about what a stupid ride he got would be heard all the way to South Africa. How could he (Shea) get himself boxed in like that?
August 11, 2008 at 09:33 #176704Not sure Carvill. Archipenko should have won the Dubai Duty Free taking a left-hander like at Arlington.
I just don’t think he liked the oval and being trapped away. Unable to stretch his legs and stride a little more freely, which I think benefitted him to win the QEII Cup and possibly the Summer Mile as well.
Not sure what is next, but I assume they will target the Hong Kong Cup as the curtain closer.
August 11, 2008 at 17:12 #176737Johnnie Murtagh knows as well as anyone that you never stop riding until the race is over. Especially at Group One level. For stud or sales purposes the record is very important.
August 13, 2008 at 14:35 #176890Looks like Mike de Kock awoke this morning to the reality of life. Both Murtagh and Mrs Magnier contribute to his good life.Today he apologized for his imprudent remarks following the Arlington Million.
