    Old timer Archie Rice lost his life yesterday at Newton Abbot. One-race-too-many.
    RIP old lad you deserved a retirement after all those races (90+) and at your age.

    Had a fantastic career and will be sorely missed. I couldn’t think of many horses who have ran in a Cornwallis Stakes and a Newton Abbot 3 miler. Pity his life ended so prematurely.
