Hi People!
I am going to use this thread to talk about my summer gig at Arapahoe Park, in Denver, Colorado.
I write this having covered the first 600 of the 1350 mile journey from a hotel about 90 minutes eaat of Kansas City, in the very heartland of America, the State of Missouri.
The countryside is flat and slightly rolling in places. Huge grain silo’s dot the landscape together with numerous small oil and natural gas wells. South of here, the Ozark Mountains start to spread out but my course takes me further west on I-70.
Tomorrow, I hit Kansas City, I have never been and only really know of it because Walt Disney was born there, as was one of my favorite golfer’s, Tom Watson. Then the long straight drive through the corn fields of Kansas await.
I hope to arrive at the track on Saturday to watch the Preakness!
As an aside, if, like a few people on here, you think I am just someone promoting themselves, simply don’t read the thread. I hope to give, if anyone is interested, a taste of what racing is like from my perspective in the "wild west" of America. Hopefully, I can show some of the racing scene from my perspective. So, of course, some of it will have a personal tone. I will put photos up now I have a camera, offer my thoughts, my picks and link to race highlights and other photos on my website.
We have a great season of racing, Thoroughbreds, Quarters, Arabians, Appaloosa’s and Paints will all be competing!

May 15, 2009 at 21:10 #227914My Amtrak Rail Pass may well take me through Denver CO-how far is the track from the city?

It’s about 30 mins from the rail station. If you want to come out, I can pick you up at the station, no probs and make sure you can get around from your hotel.
