Aiden O’Brien’s Dansili colt, Peter Tchaichovsky, who won on his only start so far at Naas. Won in a photo finish that day, but should improve significantly for his first run.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
May 6, 2008 at 17:27 #161947Sorry Smithy have only just seen this. Not 100% sure what to make of the Salisbury race. I thought the leaders probably went plenty fast enough and think April Pride may have ended up paying the price for racing closer to it than the winner. I thought she had the race won 2f out. Would like to see Foundation Room run again before I was thinking Royal Ascot material but given how she was looking better the further she went, 6f would be better than 5f I’d say should they go there with her.
May 6, 2008 at 17:54 #161949I usually think the Woodcote at Epsom is a decent enough race for the 5f sorts, and it usually attracts plenty of the better early progressive sorts. It can sometimes attract good ones. Will also keep an eye on the better races coming up.
Art Connoisseur is certainly the best one weve seen so far on his newmarket conditions win, And I dont have baycat far off him on his Ascot conditions race and both are very smartly bred and open to plenty of progress.
May 14, 2008 at 20:15 #163501One who I found interesting when winning last week was Blas Ceoil, Bolger has had a decent Gaelic named daughter of Mr Greeley the last two seasons and it would be interesting to see what he achieves (if anything) with her.
She has won another race tonight quite easily, am going to keep an eye one her.
May 14, 2008 at 20:16 #163502Bloody ell Bully heat me to it. 6f looks her trip as she only really asserted in the final furlong. Picked up well though.
May 15, 2008 at 13:24 #163628Baycat looks as honest they come seems to be progressing well enough and you would think he would have a very good chance in the Windsor Castle, should Art Connoseur go for the Coventry.
The form of both his races has been upheld soemwhat by the easy win of sunship today at salisbury
May 15, 2008 at 17:05 #163712The fast ground was the key for Sun Ship today, Bulwark, as well as the race not looking all that strong. He did do it well though.
I think Prolific of Richard Hannon’s can be added to the ‘highly promising’ list after an incredibly impressive debut victory at Newmarket this evening. He ran green for most of the race and needed a little flick from Richard Hughes to keep him in line, but he quickened extremely well and looks full of potential.
Nice looking horse too.
May 16, 2008 at 07:37 #163807Harry Findlay owns Cerito (Bahamian Bounty -Pascali Compton Place) a well backed (7/2 into 2s) 6 lenghts winner at Bath this week.
The jockey reported all he had to do was to point it in the right direction and to book his top hat for Ascot.
May 17, 2008 at 11:42 #164052Orizaba must be the best two-year-old seen out to date.
May 17, 2008 at 11:47 #164053Rightly so – every two-year-old who has broken his or her Maiden must be considered for Royal Ascot. These horses have not raced enough on average to be hitting the conditions races yet, no?
As for Orizaba – I guess it’ll be the norm if he is installed as favourite for the Coventry. Beaten horses from the yards of Dunlop, Gosden, Hannon, Meehan, Balding, Tregoning and Hills is reasonably good. Maybe better than Bath?
Anything from across the North Sea yet? Remembering that the Irish lined up Henrythenavigator and Pencil Hill for the 2007 Coventry.

Forgive this unfinished secondary school student.
