You’re right EF, I was trying to think of them all and forgot the best one
I remember Alec Bird saying he’d been got at after his ante-post bet on him for the 2000 gns floundered in the Craven Stakes well beaten by Lyphards Wish. Was that autopsy some years later, I don’t think he died young did he, did he go America?I think they tried to get him right but couldn’t. I do not think he was that old when he died. He stood as a stallion for a little while but with no great success. Tyrnavos and Tachypous were also relative failures at stud.
As for Stilvi, she won a couple of pattern sprints, the Cornwallis seems to ring a bell and she was rated either 121 or 126 by Timeform. Tromos was given a mark of 134 for his effort in the Dewhurst which is rare for a 2yo.

Not sure when he took over but Lord John Fitzgerald trained Toxotis as Bruce Hobbs retired and lived in Lakenheath until his death.
What was actually wrong with his stomach that it was "seared" & what could have caused this do you think?
