Who wrote the following, about what and whom?
"There is no earthly point in our staging championship races when the supposed champions, though admittedly fit and well, do not contest them. It makes a mockery of a universally approved system."
A stab in the dark, Paul Nicholls on Best Mate and Henrietta Knight?

Afraid not, but again a good shout.
Time for a clue. It first appeared in a Sporting Life article and was later quoted in that year’s Timeform Racehorses annual.
May 12, 2013 at 10:18 #439404John Hislop? Maybe about Crepello not taking part in the 1957 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes?

Another good guess but not the answer Iam looking for.
Another clue: it concerns the decision by connections not to run in the Arc.
May 19, 2013 at 07:52 #44006821st century?
May 21, 2013 at 19:40 #440324Shergar, not contesting the 1981 Arc – as originally said by Tony Morris in the Sporting Life of October 7th.
May 24, 2013 at 20:01 #440596Well done Adrian, spot on.
It could easily have been mistaken as having been said of Frankel’s connections.
Your turn.
May 27, 2013 at 13:56 #440909Struggling to think of an original question that can’t be Googled so I’ll ask this old oddity:
Which horse started a short priced favourite for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and then, three starts later, finished 22nd in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.
May 28, 2013 at 07:24 #440979Was it Genghis Khan Adrian? Although I’m not so sure about the short priced fav bit, with him being coupled with Montjeu
May 28, 2013 at 16:02 #441012That’s correct – well done Yeats.
Genghis Khan did go off 6/4 favourite for the Arc – the mere fact he was in the same ownership as a horse called Montjeu is surely co-incidental!!
May 29, 2013 at 08:37 #441067To keep to The Arc theme, as we know The Derby is run these days on the first Saturday in June, similarly The Arc is run on the first Sunday in October but when was the last time The Arc was not run on the first Sunday in October and what was the reason?
May 29, 2013 at 14:20 #4410821989 (Carroll House) and probably something to do with celebrating the 200 year anniversary of the French revloution on the Sunday before ?

Correct Lee, well done.
I was hoping someone would know the reason if they knew when it was, sounds good to meOver to you.
May 29, 2013 at 19:29 #441104Cheers Yeats.
Probably not too challenging for some of the brains on here but:
Which 2 horses clashed in a class 5 AW race in March one year, filled the first two places in a race at the Cheltenham festival the following March and between them were sent off short priced favourites for 3 different races at the festival the following year ?

May 30, 2013 at 21:15 #441218Detroit City and Fair Along. That 0-70 at Southwell was some race!!
May 31, 2013 at 04:28 #441236Good work Adrian and yes, it sure was.
