1st May Sligo: 2.45 Skiboski & 3.20 City Hustler
2nd May Curragh: 3.50 Camira, Down Royal: 4.10 Busy Monkey & Limerick: 2.35 Night Spark & HoumahakaAll these horses suffered falls/injuries which I think might have been fatal. <!– s:( –>
<!– s:( –> Only one I’m not sure about is Houmahaka as I only saw him on the ground in the replay this morning so don’t know what the fall was like and whether he got up.Any news good or bad appreciated.
May 3, 2011 at 19:15 #353572Apparently Skiboski broke a leg and got put down. Informed this via my Memorial Facebook Page.
May 4, 2011 at 14:04 #353719Carima is still with us although she won’t race again.
May 4, 2011 at 18:03 #353753That’s good news, GreyDesire.
Skiboski looked like it was his fetlock that went. Commentator said Night Spark fell and was badly injured so I assume the worst.
May 9, 2011 at 11:16 #354598HRI racing website confirms Night Spark was fatally injured. Also on their list and not mentioned elsewhere are:
Club Oscar
Faithlegg Lady
Mooreabbey
Rebel Gale
Red Messi
Thesulkyoflanagan
ThresholdI guess that means Busy Monkey and Houmahaka made it, although the lists for weeks ending 28th April and 5th May don’t give either Skiboski or City Hustler so their records are not complete either.
RIP to all those mentioned above. Definitely a bad week in Ireland.
