I am starting to think that Shishkin v. Energumene could very well be the race of the festival. Energumene blasting off from the front with Shishkin sitting on his tail waiting to pounce….if he can.
This race just proved that the result of Tingle Creek (with the top two blowing out) was not up to the usual level of the race. For me Greaneteen is a solid G2 horse that unless the more fancied horses underperform he is handily put in his place in G1 company.

Did the milk not work
Maybe add a little strawberry powderNicky for sure knows best, that is why he trains horses.
“Anyone can train Sprinter, Altior and Shishkin”
Get on and do it then
Reminds me of people saying the only thing Beckham can do is cross it
If that was the case why can’t they get close enough to block the cross..Blackbeard to conquer the World
December 27, 2021 at 16:37 #1574893It is so impressive the way he finishes his races. I genuinely think he will power clear of Energumene if they meet.
December 27, 2021 at 16:41 #1574894I can’t really get excited about these theoretical clashes tbh.
I will get interested at the 48-hour stage if they both show up.
One of them won a Point-to-Point at Larkhill btw.

A stupid opinion to make on a horse racing forum.

December 27, 2021 at 17:07 #1574904So…
When a horse has a bad scope it makes sense not to run. Otherwise runs the risk of both the horse losing and setting it back. ie Running a horse with a virus means it will in all probability be off for longer than would be the case if missing the race.
Shishkin is both seen in 2021 and wins impressively.
What’s the problem?
Get over it.

More factual than a opinion to be fair

December 27, 2021 at 17:16 #1574907This forum does like Hendo-bashing.

Ah, its one of those opinions everyone knows who thinks they are smart. You were there yourself Ginge with Champ, before you decided to get back in to arse licking mode.

December 27, 2021 at 17:47 #1574923The forum likes Hendo bashing and trainer/jockey bashing generally.
But while I don’t always agree with it I defend the right of non trainers and non jockeys to criticise trainers and jockeys.
Those making a living in the public domain must expect flak – it goes with the territory.

December 27, 2021 at 18:06 #1574935How do you beat Shiskin , he didn’t even really hit a flatspot today , there,s been faster 2 milers but it’s the way he gets to the line
December 27, 2021 at 18:06 #1574937Whether one is a fan of Hendo or not, there’s no denying that he’s always a thorn in the side of the Mullins’ force when it comes to the big stage. What he did to bring Sprinter Sacre back to champion status was a masterstroke of training.
December 27, 2021 at 18:18 #1574942There is set to be another outing before Cheltenham, although Henderson believes Ascot may arrive too early and equally feels Newbury’s Game Spirit Chase could come too close to Cheltenham.
